Coconut rice and ball curry one of the favourite Anglo-Indian dishes.
Loved the recipes, tried it, came out great! I was first interested to watch your videos only because you were Anglo Indian. I grew up in Chennai India during the 70s and 80s so I had a lot of Anglo Indian friends. I have shared your video links in my friends group, many of them are Anglo Indians and now live all around the world. I am not Anglo Indian but love them. Now I love the food. I also love the motivational God centered messages at the beginning of each video. This world needs more of those. Looking forward to a lot more videos. Love and blessings from Canada
Hi Sarah, thank you so much for such a lovely comment, and thank you for sharing my link with your friends, hope you continue to enjoy my videos in the future too 🙏🏽❤️🤗
I was in Dubai from 1993 to 2017.
And came down every year.
Enjoyed my Mum's cooking but whenever i asked her for the recipe she always said little of this and little of that 😂 So really never got down to trying it out.
But now after you have explained in detail even a lay man can follow.
So thanks a ton and looking forward to many more Anglo recipes to come ❤❤❤
Aw that’s such a lovely comment I’m so glad you can now enjoy what you enjoyed as a kid. ❤️🙏🏽❤️🤗

If you could please put up a recipe of beef or pork roast...
After that as I keep remembering some more Anglo cuisine I will worry you again.

Are you based on India...

@@pearlskitchen9999 Also awesome to see so many Anglos connecting through your channel..
Was wonderful reading all the comments.
The Anglo community is dwindling as most have moved out.
I had been for the Anglo indian association get together at the Bishops School Pune after ages and was shocked to see the small crowd that was present compared to what it used to be a few years ago...

Hi Pearl, my Mum, Kitty/Helena was Anglo-Indian, born in Calcutta, her Kofta recipe was the same as yours, we used to eat it with dahl and rice x
Aw that’s great to hear Andy I’m sure it brought back lovely childhood memories 🙏🏽❤️❤️😁
@pearlskitchen9999 Aww, it did pearl, I'm binge watching your podcasts. My Mum taught me how to cook, her technique was so similar to yours 😊
Pretty Impressive. I shall try it out. Thank You.
Gorgeous cooking.
As a child, I recall a friend of my family's cooking ball-curry for us. She wasn't an Anglo-Indian, but a Burgher of Ceylon- a mixed-race descendant of Dutch settlers and Ceylon-natives (Sinhala). She looked eastern European or Turkish. She also cooked the yellow rice. I also recall a mixed vegetable salad that she made as an accompaniment. The Late Mrs Vandervort was actually my first teacher at school.
Wow Chris what lovely memories she has left with you 🤗👌🏻👍🏻😁🤩😋🙏🏽

WOW! I'm so glad I chanced upon your channel Pearl, it's so nostalgic to see an anglo-Indian after 20+ years. I grew up in Calcutta and had anglo-Indian's as my neighbours, I played n grew up with them. My mom had colleagues in her office and one of them became family friends...Aunty Oria, her mum n sisters.... Mum learnt many anglo_indian recipes from her friends and made them at home....including the legendary Calcuttan anglo-Indian Christmas cakes....oh my goodness! this is huge cause these are memories from 42+ years ago!!!🤯🤯 😊💕 I will be following you closely from now on. All the very best!💐💐

Hi Pearl
Thank you for sharing your recipe. My mum Linda always added fresh minced Mint leaves to the meat when mixing up for the balls. You should try it. I have shared your recipe with my Cousin who now lives in South Africa. Also mum added coconut milk to the curry and put in on the dum for at least 8 minutes (a very very low heat). Thanks for time you provide to keep our recipes alive. One other piece of advice. 🙂 Could you please wear a microphone so that you are audible. Cheers from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺
Thank you Barry, I will definitely try your mums version 🤗👌🏻❤️😁🙏🏽, and yes some peoples phone did have volume problem and yet other phones were ok but since then we have changed the microphone so check out some other latest videos of mine and hope the sound is better here is the link

Your recepies are just fantastic, I watch your cooking channel every week, so much in detail with the cup measurements. You are a star
Thankyou.
I am glad that you are making this with lamb and goat and NOT beef ! Thanks
Lots of Hindus in Kerala eat beef. I read a research article that showed that beef was eaten regularly by even the brahmins. The ban and the taboo are relatively recent.
@@kvuppal1those are namesake Hindus. It’s not about sin, it’s about killing and eating an animal that has same emotions as you and eating it when you have so many other foods. Why don’t you people take the same stance with pork?
Love both the recipes. A must try.
Thank you hope you enjoy it
