Camino de Santiago - Day 31 - Villafranca to Laguna de Castilla - Camino Frances - June 2024

I returned to Spain in June 2024 with the intention of finally completing the Camino Frances route to Santiago de Compostella.

This final trip would see me continue onwards from Ponferrada, where I ended my walk in August 2023.

A disturbed night's sleep, thanks to a squeaky bed frame and mattress, led to a 7am start and the undulating climb towards O' Cebreiro.
👣
It was comforting to see the same familiar faces each day, and the swell of pilgrims passing in waves whenever stopped to rest or eat.
👣
The undulating climbs, the steep slopes, the horse poop... all part of the Camino experience.
