Johnny Cash spent a lot of time in Ireland. He toured here often and was friends with many Irish singers including recording a duet with at least one of them (Sandy Kelly). You also passed through Kinvara where John Prine had a home for many years. He used to play in the local pubs when he was staying there. And Steve Earle spent some time in Galway as well. He wrote an album there.
“We know our 🍕” *laughs in Italian and French* Thank you for sharing this trip! Ireland is on my evergrowing list... the more I travel, the longer it gets it seems 🤔 📝🍀🤗🇨🇦🇮🇪
We went to southwest Ireland in March 2017 and loved it, hope to go back soon. We lucked out and have very little rain while we were there. Most of the live music we found was American country music also. Welcome Chattanooga, maybe we'll see ya'll around town sometime and pet Kramer for me.
OH MY GOSH, I don't say this often if ever but this is way too short. We want to see more:) Love the way you push your editing to the edge. I'm learning from your free spirit. So fun! You guys are so Not just van life people. Can't wait until you two start really traveling again. Yay Shepards Pie😃 Super comfort food. So glad you found this lost episode. We're smiling, James and Kim
Thanks, y’all!! That was the best comment we could have read tonight. We definitely miss traveling and can’t wait to get back out there so so soon! Wish we had more footage to add to this video but the next day covid broke out and we didn’t get a chance to explore again. Guess we’ll have to go back. 🙃 Hope to see y’all soon!
love this ireland series! i’m heading there solo i april and i have 2 questions: sara, what shoes did you take on this trip (knowing the country’s rainy nature) and do you recommend them? and, what camera strap is sara using? love how it holds the camera on the back so you can scramble around. thanks!
Thanks, Kim!! ☺️ it was such a fun time in Galway. Definitely makes us want to visit Dublin for sure now to get more of an urban Irish feel. We’ll need all yalls recommendations when that day finally comes!
Ahh yes, the famous Irish songwriter Johnny O'Cash... Glad you had a good time while you were here! Can confirm that is definitely some extremely Irish looking weather..
Hey Jeremy! Thanks so much! We’re missing travel a lot too and stumbling upon this Ireland video we forgot to post back in March took us down memory lane. Hopefully we’ll all get to travel again soon!
Unfortunately, the Irish also like Johnny Cash. You found one of the best banjo players in Ireland. Brian McGrath is one of the top piano players as well. He is listed on over 300 CDs. Brian was an instructor at an Irish music camp I attend and I later took zoom lessons from him. He has played in some very famous groups including Dervish, Four Men and a Dog, De Dannan and At The Racket. I only hope I can run into him when I visit Galway later this month.
Thank, Thomas! We’d definitely recommend going to Ireland whenever you get the chance. Such a beautiful country with incredibly friendly people! Don’t hesitate to reach out if you need suggestions when you start to plan your trip. ☺️
I can't remember the exact price, but I want to say it was ~$300 for two weeks-ish. The insurance is usually what costs the most on rental cars in Ireland, but we have insurance and a credit card with USAA which is one of the few that will cover rental cars in Ireland (I believe Chase has a credit card that covers Ireland rental car insurance, too). When we rented our car we made sure to put it on our USAA card then we called USAA to double check we were covered. I would look into seeing if your insurance company and/or credit card company cover Ireland car rentals.
Yes! We did. I know we for sure tried Murphy's. We don't drink a lot but we did enjoy the drinks we did try. :) We just know that Guinness is sort of the signature "must try" Irish drink.
Hey Nate! We actually have a video in the works about this very thing! In short though, Chris has owned his own graphic design/marketing/video business for 12 years now which is our main source of income.
Actually we don’t. We’ve been home since this trip. This video was film back in early March just a day before America shut the borders. Everything was fine snd normal when we left for this trip. We’ve been staying home this year just like you. ❤️
Let's Be Us, I mean I’ve never met you but, I’ve been good, but I wish I met you!I’d be happy to meet you guys, meeting you guys I would be having the time of my life! Also just asking, do you like want to know me more personally then?

Thank you!
Cool vid.. How much did they charge you for the rental car over there? Thx.
A king's random usually.

Guinness is a brand name for a stout.
Didn't you try other brands of stouts like Murphy's, Beamish or craft stout?
Yes! We did. I know we for sure tried Murphy's. We don't drink a lot but we did enjoy the drinks we did try. :) We just know that Guinness is sort of the signature "must try" Irish drink.

what do you guys do for money? I'm so curious because you guys are always having so much fun traveling! :)
Hey Nate! We actually have a video in the works about this very thing! In short though, Chris has owned his own graphic design/marketing/video business for 12 years now which is our main source of income.
👋
I hope the mandatory two weeks quarantine when ye arrived didn't put too much of a dampener on the trip!
Was that in place in early March?
No it wasn't. The first case of the virus hit Ireland on this day actually.
Lucky, you get to go on adventures during COVID-19.
Actually we don’t. We’ve been home since this trip. This video was film back in early March just a day before America shut the borders. Everything was fine snd normal when we left for this trip. We’ve been staying home this year just like you. ❤️
Oh ok still seems like you guys had the time of your lives
