  • In this video we'll test to see if Kiwi All Protector shoe waterproofer will actually protect my Yeezy's against water. We'll also compare Kiwi All Protector against other shoe protector products such as Crep, Goat, Reshoeven8er, and All weather protector.

      Hey bro, thanks for this! I appreciate your thorough explanation on how you made your decision on choosing this spray. However, I was wondering whether you took a look at the other Kiwi protectors before going with this one? I went through all of them and I’m still sort of confused on whether theres any actual differences between each one or it’s just some marketing scheme to sell a bigger variety of products. All of them are a waterproofing spray, they’re all just worded differently so it’s hard for me to come to a final decision before I make a bulk order lol. If you could possibly inform me on this, that’d be great, thanks!

    Have you tried their suede and nubuck specific spray? Idk if they had that at the time you posted this vid and if it’s any different.
    Awesome review btw super thorough and covered all bases! I used crep on a pair of Uggs recently but to get kiwi for half the cost is super enticing as long as it doesn’t change the color of light suedes

      Awwww man YES! Yes I did, in fact I wanted to buy another one because according to the label, it was the same thing I got but cheaper. They wouldn't ship it to me through Amazon though, only the more expensive one which is the one I reviewed. I even tried to go to Walmart and see if they had it there because that's where I used to buy the stuff from when I was younger. There and KMart; but nope. Didn't have it. Walmart.com also wouldn't ship it to me, said it was illegal for my state so I just left it alone.
      Great question though! But now that I think about it, I'm about to do a video where I paint my car, so I've been doing all this research on paint kits and paints, and some paints are illegal in some states due to the VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) levels being too high. So VOC's are things that generally come in paints or aerosol sprays and they'll basically kill you if you breathe in enough of it. So I'm assuming that's why that cheaper Kiwi isn't allowed in my state.
      But again, great question, because I thougth the saaame thing!

    I traditionally use Saphir, but that is mainly for my high-end luxury shoes. Saphir is expensive, therefore, I refuse to use it on my mid-tier shoes.
    I'm looking for something more bang for the buck for the mid-tier shoes.
    Appreciate the review.
    Side note, I definitely do not get the general obsession with the Yeezy's. Definitely take a picture of yourself wearing them, because in 10 years, this is going to be one of those moments when you look back and say what the hell was I wearing. 🤣🤣🤣

    • @ToolDeals
      @ToolDeals  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've never heard of Saphir. I'd be interested in checking out the ingredients in all of these cans. But I agree, I wouldn't be using anything expensive on a pair of sub $200 shoe.
      LOL, I was the same when he first moved to Adidas and released the 350's. I thought they looked like Third-World shoes. Something Jesus would've worn in his day. BUT, once you get them on your feet, your opinion changes quickly due to how they feel. After the success of the 350's you ended up seeing a lot more bounce-sole, mesh uppers. They're breathable and are suitable for any foot-type.
      Now the 350 V2's aren't as comfortable as the V1's and I'm not a huge fan of them. But these boots? I have a Euro-Fashion style and man these things can be dressed up to look like straight money. Videos don't do them justice. I bought 1 pair, and as soon as I got them delivered I bought almost every other color. They're high quality, comfortable and again, can be dressed up to look like money in the right hands.
      It's funny, I look at all my Jordans and Foamposites and think, "Why was I buying these?!" Certain Yeezy's are a much more mature look that fit my persona these days. I'm trying to figure out now what to do with all these Nike's I no longer wear.
      Thanks for the comment!

    great video. i was wondering if you have used it on leather? and did it mess up dark color leather? i got some new dunks and blazers and i just wanna be safe with them.

    • @ToolDeals
      @ToolDeals  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nah, I've never took the risk to use any protectant on leather. I just wear the shoes and when I was younger, just cleaned them.... every day! Now I just clean them when they get dirty.... sometimes lol.
      But yeah, leather I'd just wear. Most shoes aren't real leather anymore anyway and are just some synthetic plastic/rubber/cardboard combination. So they'll be fine from water and dirt. Just wipe the upper off with a damp cloth as soon as it gets dirty (like at the end of the day or next day) and scrub the soles gently with a drop of dish soap and water. That has kept my shoes fresh forever.

  • @blerdcouple

    Would you recommend this for Jordan 5? Would it be bad to spray the bottom of the shoe?

    • @ToolDeals
      @ToolDeals  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If it's a Nubuck, suede, version of the 5's I think it would work great. Getting it on the mid-soles won't be a problem, it'll just protect them. But if you're talking about putting it on the bottom bottom of the shoe the actual soles, then I don't know. It might keep them fairly clean, might be slippery too, lol. Try at your own risk, but that sounds like a cool video and experiment to make!

    Hey bro so is there any way you could look on the can and see if you see an ingredient number or even just a number for instance 35*32736? Sometimes it says SCJ Formula before those numbers. Asking because I bough Kiwi sneaker protector and Kiwi all protector and they both seem to have the same active ingredient regardless of being different colored cans. I just wanted to see if it was still the same thing you were using before I spray it all over my 2 pairs of all white air Max’s! One pair 90’s and the other pair 2090’s.

    • @ToolDeals
      @ToolDeals  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm late on this, but this is a good point! Sometimes it's just the same old formula in a different can at a different price.
      So I checked it out and I looked over that can almost 10 times. No reference to the active ingredient whatsoever. Could be why some Kiwi products can't be bought online in some states? Have no clue, but I wondered the same between those two because one was cheaper! Good luck! I don't think you'll have a problem though, but I'd test in a small area first though.

    • @derekwilliams3556
      @derekwilliams3556 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ToolDeals hey thank you so much for responding! I actually wound up using family members as a bit of testers.. I had a couple of them tell me rather they smelled any different and if so how and why. Turns out to the unbiased nose(lol) they smelled the same but each family member commented on how the protect all smelled stronger of the same ingredient. They were not allowed to look at the can as they were testing. But over and over again they said the two cans smelled the same but that one was stronger than the other(the protect all being the one smelling stronger). So idk if one had a higher concentration of the chemical used? They both worked fine on my all whites so I’m thankful… but for future reference it’s always nice to save money and just get what we need. I’m gonna say the protect all is possibly stronger due to my little study/experiment but hey… who knows.

  • @fishynishy6227
    @fishynishy6227 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    idk if I should get this. I just got a pair of white Nike repostos or something and I wanna get a protecting spray. The reviews for this say it turned their white shoes yellow. And crep reviews said that it doesn’t even work sometimes. What do I do?

    • @ToolDeals
      @ToolDeals  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a good question. I've used it on leather, rubber, and suede. On the gum soles it turned them white. On the black rubber soles it was fine. Hard to call it man. Whatever you do, tape it off, and spray a real small area of the shoe. I almost hate giving that advice because generally the entire shoe is going to show.
      Another thing you can do, and this might be expensive. Go to the mall where they have those shoe kiosks, and get them to do it. This way you can hold them liable. ORRR you can go to the thrift store and buy some shoes that are similar in material and spray those. That would probably be the safest, cheapest route. Hope this helps!

    • @ToolDeals
      @ToolDeals  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would. If you're nervous about it you can try them on a pair from the goodwill or something. Or sneak in Marshall's and spray a pair in there, lol. Walk around for an hour and see if they turned yellow. But I don't think you'll have an issue though. The thing about Air Force 1's is, you can return them if they're new.

      I have never used those. I'm curious if they'd prevent certain shoes from yellowing. I would assume so, because it should seal them airtight, but I've never used them so I can't say unfortunately. Might make for a good experiment for a video though!
