Best and most complete video I have seen to date on shoulder rehab. I have had 3 complete shoulder replacements in the past 20 years. 2 on the right over that 20 years on one on the left and through all the physical therapy and hundreds of dollars this by far is the best advice I have ever received on rehabilitation of my shoulders . I'm still in some pain and restrictive movement from my last right shoulder complete replacement 2 years ago. But after seeing your video and advice given . I am sure I can make improvements towards a pain-free and better range of motion.
Thanks so so much for this.

I learned so much in the first 14 minutes that I had to stop and review. The models were helpful, as were the motions to test and diagnose.

Thank you so much for this video. I did the second shoulder shrug in a square and I got a pain at the back of my shoulder below my rear deltoid as soon as I moved the shoulder down and forward. Then on the next one you put the ball right where my pain is. It’s helped me begin to locate the problem area.

Thanks for the information. I have had right shoulder pain for over 2 months. BUT ONLY AT NIGHT. I am a retired RN. I am not a patient person BUT I'm doing my best to obtain more patience. Getting rid of pain will do that to a person. I have been active in many sports my whole life. I have NEVER had a physical body situation that hasn't resolved itself in a few weeks before. This Right shoulder problem has gone on TOO long. I have a PT, who I trust, who has given me extensive strengthening/stretching exercises. Plus needling. I am 76 years old and I take NO medications. All labs are fantastic. My shoulder is simply TIGHT. I believe. I like the roller exercise. I'm going to try it. Plus the Square shoulder exercise. It feels GREAT doing that strengthening exercise. I've completed the Statue of Liberty stretching/strengthening exercises offered by my PT. I've just tried the tennis ball routine. Wow! Does that feel great. I seems to smash the soreness! I moved the 'ball' around the joint and forward too. Whew! Nice. Thanks I believe I MUST do this 'tennis ball' routine before I sleep and also the square shoulder exercise too. I do NOT consciously sleep on my right side. But my throbbing pain in my right arm is intermittent. Some nights NO pain while I sleep. Maybe 3 out of 7 night. I am keeping a journal, now, of my exercises and my sleeping schedule. WHAT A HASSLE. Thanks again for the great information!

I found the detailed video on shoulder pain management very informative. Regarding your comment at 45:48, it's actually the supraspinatus that is engaged up to 15 degrees of abduction, after which the deltoid muscle becomes the primary mover.

Great job explaining and the amount of detail shown in your video dude! I have a nagging pain in my right shoulder that I keep pushing through during my workout but I have given it some rest and doesn't seem to go away and I just don't want to stop working out. I did notice that I failed the scratch test. I can go above my waist, so that suggests that I have tight front shoulder pain. Now that I think about it, I think this was caused when I was doing front shoulder raises with a 45 lb plate. I'm definitely going to try this out, thanks again for the info!

I have been suffering from very mild shoulder impingement now almost 3 and a half years. It happened while doing a tennis serve. I can play tennis, I don't feel much pain but arm feels heavier when swinging. Now, for the past few months I have been doing planks. I had no issue at start. At one point I don't know when I started to have pain in elbow ONLY being in plank position. Now I cannot do any more plank as it courses me elbow pain. I'm pretty sure it has to do something with shoulder pain and I don't know what to do anymore. I can do all exercises, I don't have any strong pain doing shoulder fitness or resistance bands usage but when I get to plank position it heart and I have immediately sharp pain going through my neck towards shoulder like thunder stike. Please help! Thank you in advance.

I think it’s advisable to get a scan asap. If it shows damage or a tear, doctors are more likely to give you prescription painkillers. Otherwise ( especially if you’re elderly) they are less inclined to take you seriously.

Interesting discussion & visual aids of the anatomical structure, most common causes of shoulder pain, and stretches & exercises to remedy the issues. I'm most of the way through the video, but so far, haven't seen any discussion of the OA shoulder pain & what to do to strengthen the muscles of the thorax, shoulders, & neck/upper back prior to a total shoulder replacement. Is there a video dedicated to that topic?
