Martabak is full of calories, most of Indonesian don't eat this by themselves, we share it with friends or families, trust me just a slice and you will feel really full.
Y'all have to try this once at least once in your life, if you feel this martabak place is unclean there's so many other martabak place that cleaner and more hygiene.
But sometimes the unclean shop one is the tastier. Haha

Fyi, in Indonesia, Martabak manis usually eaten together when you're with family or friends or groups. Trust me, if you eat the whole martabak by yourself you'll get diabetes in no time 😂😂🤣🤣🤣

In malaysia we called this is apam balik. but the only difference here is the size is smaller and thinner than in Indonesia bigger and thicker. The green one supposedly use a pandan leave for it's green color (and some unique aroma), not some food coloring. What a disappointment 😒
Well that one depends on the vendor, some vendor has menu with different flavor batter like cake flavor batter etc. pandan batter included

In Pontianak (n most areas in West Kalimantan) we call this martabak ‘apam pulu pinang’ . Martabak in our area refers to egg martabak (very different look and taste with this sweet Martabak). They both r usually sold in the same counter cart). But nowadays many people in our area also sometimes refer this apam pulu pinang as sweet martabak too (adjusting the Indonesian term or to be specific, jakarta term😅)

nope, there are so many different toppings for martabak
the different choices are for the pancake dough flavour, in the recent years many martabak sellers put up a variety of sweat martabak flavour, such as red velvet or black forest, even the toppings are upgraded as well, back then the common ones were chocolate, cheese and peanuts now there are nutela, silverqueen chocolate bar, kit-kat, etc. like everyone said, this is a delicious street food but very very high calorie, best to eat for once in a while with friends and family, obviously that one portion is meant fot sharing.
@@daydayuu I have a kind Indonesian neighbor who makes these once a week and shares it with us. But instead of chocolate sprinkles he uses nutella.
