I think the media is making too big a deal out of this. Our stadium hold 72,000 people and we sold 70,000 tickets. We are averaging the 9th highest attendance in the league. The picture shows it empty, but that was just people who had been up at half to get food or drinks or use the bathroom. You could hear on the TV how loud the fans were at the end of the game, if the stadium is empty it doesn’t sound like that.
Ticket sells don’t mean anything. So many tickets are pre brought to just resell, but obviously they don’t always resell so nobody goes. Several teams have sold out tickets years in advance. I believe the cowboys are the biggest example. Thats why basically all events use ticketmaster and apps like that. They’re resellers, the original tickets get sold out immediately with big events.
Edit: not all tickets get sold to those resellers though, just most. There are rules that prevent them from doing that. Depending on the event and size an X amount has to be sold by the organizer and an x amount has to be apart of a sweepstakes that’s usually how radio stations give them out.
I think it's more about getting under JJ's skin on this show

Bro let's get real, the stadium is always halfway full it's been that way forever and when people do show up they stay outside telgating the whole game or they don't even get in they're seats till after halftime, it's the weirdest thing but it's probably cuz we have a bunch of fake fans here in Houston everyone wears they're battle red jerseys to work but they don't really watch the games or show up. Our fans honestly disgust me.
@@Mike_G737the picture they showed was from the Cardinals game before kickoff. It wasn't the Jags game and wasn't during the game. People are still stuck in traffic or stuck in concession lines at that point. We're consistently averaging over 71K attendance for a 72K capacity stadium.

Pro sporting tickets are not something average people can afford anymore. Between ticket prices, parking, and inflated concessions, you're looking at hundreds of dollars for a few hours. I'd rather stay at home and watch on my TV.
Our cheapest tickets last year were like $30 because we were ass. Now nosebleeds are $80-$100 it’s absurd

There were 70,000 tickets sold of the 72,000 seats. Also the avg actual fan attendance ranks 9th in the NFL. I think they are making a bigger deal than it really is. Also that big section that looked empty on TV after halftime was basically full about 9:00 in the 3rd qtr.

@@hoodrat7 no the paid attendance was sold out but the tickets threw the door were 70k. I just talked to my season tickets rep. It was the high actual attendance in 2 seasons. I sent a pic to Pat of the Jags game. It was completely packed. If you were there you know. The Texans average in stadium attendance is still 9th in the league. Higher than many playoff teams.

I was at the game Sunday. Definitely more packed than led on. Houston fans are late to every event, even disney on ice lol. Mainly due to traffic.
I was outside of the stadium at 11 am and stuck in traffic on Fannin St trying to get into Orange Lot. I didn’t get to my seat until 12:15ish.
Traffic is always terrible around NRG and Minute Maid Park.
It’s sad how hard you have to defend this pathetic franchise lol. No fan base

The Texans have the reputation of getting to the game a little late. And that was the Cardinals game not the Jags. And was most likely halftime. The Cardinals said the crowd was loud because of that the Jags practised for crowd noise. The Jags had to burn a time out because of the crowd noise.
the stadium was full eventually, the traffic surrounding the stadium is literally hell. it took me 1 30 mins to go 50 yards to the parking lot

We’re coming off of consecutive low single digit win seasons and the city is still enamored with the Astros and the run they’ve been on. I hate to say this with all that CJ is doing for us this season but it’s probably going to take a few years of CJ playing at an MVP level and some playoff wins to get the casual Houston sports fans who are all in on the Astros right now to come back.
I just went to the Houston Denver game. And I gotta say there were some empty seats but was most aggravating was the sea of Orange bronco fans on the 2nd level on one whole side of the stadium.
