Cal will ALWAYS talk over the intro 😂
I find it hilariously predictable...and I don't mind it. I've been listening to the Trivia show since the beginning and I don't need to hear the intro every time.
What’s worse; that OR him not knowing smith and Wesson literally making M&P products 😂
"I can't do one-legged deadlifts.... I'm in rough shape." 😂😂😂 wtf.
Cal really is just here to learn
Video show is so good, it’s like meeting people you have been pen pals with for years and years.
I look forward to this every Wednesday but damnit MeatEater trivia is so much more fun with Steve! also im a dentist, last name Randall so when I hear "Dr Randall" it always trips me out. good shit boys. cant wait for next weeks episode
Cal absolutley does NOT understand the definition of keystone and indicator species. They are different designations for a reason.
Notes for Cal:
"Military & Police" is the name of a Smith and Wesson product line. It started with the old school 38 special revolvers like the model 19 and continues with the current "M&P" semi autos such as M&P9, and carbines such as M&P15.
A keystone species is different than an indicator species. One is an input variable and the other is a product. A keystone species is important because of how it affects the ecosystem, and an indicator species is important because of how it is affected BY the ecosystem.
Take me hunting?...
"Famous for their Military and Police revolvers"... M&P.
We are all very lucky to have Spencer. He does a great job!!
I'm sure he's looked into by now, but to help Cal understand; a "keystone species" is an ecosystem engineer. In the longleaf pine savannas (such as those at Tall Timbers, where I briefly worked and he has visited), the gopher tortoise and red-cockaded woodpeckers are keystone species because the create habitat for multiple other species. An indicator species is a much broader term. For example: if you were blindfolded and dropped off in a deep south forest, there are species that would indicate what climatic zone or area of the world you were in. Southern magnolias are an indicator species for woods in the humid subtropical climate zone (Koppen cfa) but are not keystone species. I can watch a movie, see loblolly pine in the background and deduce that it was filmed in the south. Indicator species just tell you where you are.
Not really… An Indicator species heath and fitness generally = the heath and fitness of the ecosystem it lives in. If the indicator species in a given ecosystem is doing well one can conclude most other species are doing well and the ecosystem as a whole is healthy.
Cal is flat wrong about the indicator vs keystone species.
The percentage of draw weight that a shooter DOESN'T hold is the let off. That question should be thrown.
I emailed spencer about it saying the same thing. The question is wrong
@@jamo9008I think I could hear you all the way out here in Idaho. Either that or it was my own screams echoing of the canyon! That was the worst question.
I always loo forward to any travel that is at least an hour or more to get the Game On playing in the truck. Makes the trip fly-by. Even my wife loves these trivia games and partakes as we go down the road. And, BTW, the games are not the same if Steve is not there. Likewise, it stinks when a guest sits in for Spencer. Good Job, Spencer.
I have never laughed this much in all of the Trivia episodes I have watched/listened to 😂
Always loved the trivia shows!!!
By far my favorite podcast. And TH-cam channel.
You all got question 2 wrong. Let off is the method by which the “holding weight” of a compound bow is achieved. The correct answer for the wording is “holding weight”. The poundage of the bow can be 70lbs, but the let off allows the “holding weight” that is felt at full draw to be 75-80% of that full weight. Let off is just the means by which this happens.
I can’t breathe 😅 this was a hilarious episode
The first episode I’ve watched vs podcast listening. I’ll say, it is much more entertaining! Didn’t expect Spencer to have a beard (for some reason), Steve’s complaining is more amusing, and I think Spenser should have privacy screens on his glasses. 😂😂
I love these guys great episode.
Great show yall are so funny 😂
El Captain? Hahaha. That was amazing.
Yea I’m from Kentucky and we are southern damn it lol
Spencer has the patience of Job.
Kentuckian here. Can confirm we will never consider ourselves “midwestern.”
FYI, there is also an El Capitan in Guadalupe Mountains National Park in Texas.
Missouri resident here, and we are 75% mid west. And 25% southern 😅
Once you hit the Ozarks, it’s the south and I live in NE Missouri 😂
I know the red maple or Native American maple is native to North America, The black locust or African American locusts were brought over on ships in the early 1600s and the white poplar was introduced to North America around the 1100s
Brody seems like a genuinely good guy as well I have to add.
Stay strong, Doctor Randall
El Capitan is also found in Guadalupe Mountain National Park in Texas.
We all have a friend like Cal.... sounds super smart, and relies on that. Love when he argues so soundly but is wrong, and will not give up.
I find it irritating. Spencer deserves an award for dealing with it.
Why do i enjoy this more than football 😅
The public land deer harvest percentage makes sense with Ohio only allowing 1 doe and 1 buck to be taken on public land. And it's state wide, not per county.
Man, I did what Cal did and completely missed the 'revolver' part of that question.
Clay deserved to be there...
LOL Cal, what even.
Gotta side with Cal on the keystone species argument. Also, would have been way better to have next week's final be a completely new game. World series final, the super bowl, nba finals...all those teams have to win consecutive games and then win the final. Under this format, there's a greater than 90% chance the winner is one of two people, way less exciting.
I can tell who’s never kept up with a tournament outside of the United States that goes by a point system 😂😂
Weird i hunt in the midwest and nobody ever asked me where i harvested my deer.
el capitan
Poke burritos? Ummm no. At least Kimi makes the more trad Poke Bowl
I'm beginning to think that Cal just can't read.
Golf is a sport Janis. There’s reason why it’s more popular than hunting 😅
I can’t believe these guys grew up in the Midwest and know so little about sports
Sports are for people with little intelligence and nothing better to do
It's either El Capitan or The Captain..... Not both
I am 100% behind Cal indicator species and Keystone species are the same thing That's the way it's being taught
Nah man, Cal arguing this in the episode was missing the mark. View it like this, indicator species can be viewed individually, a chemical change occurs and that individual species is impacted. Keystone species by definition have to then have follow on impacts, chemical change occurs resulting in KS species decline which then sees decline in species X, Y, Z.
@@JamesClarke2233right, if the heath of a indicator species is in decline then generally the ecosystem is also in decline at the same time. With Keystone specie, the decline of the ecosystem happens after the decline of the keystone species! Although cal is right that the term “keystone species” is very loose, as every species plays an important role in the structure of an ecosystem.
Keystone species gets it's name from the stone that holds an arch. If the keystone falls the whole thing falls.
@@slimsawyer8461 Absolutely, the human mind likes neat and tidy, nature has different ideas!
The percentage of draw weight an archer holds is not 'let off'. The archer holds the sum of the percentage that is 'let off' from the draw.
Brody had a point.
Where was the audio podcast version of this??
Was expecting it last night.....
Edit - Apple podcasts being shit as usual...
"Famous for their military and police revolvers" could definitely apply to Colt. 1851 Navy, 1860 Army, 1861 Navy, 1849 Pocket Police, and perhaps the most famous revolver in history, the Single Action Army.
Go back and listen to the entire question... only one company "Famous for their military and police revolvers" recently moved their manufacturing from Mass to Tenn...
@@havedominionoutdoors4301 I know, I'm not disputing the answer to the question. But the first tidbit in a question usually acts as a little hint, something that might give you the answer if it's a fact you recognize.
I was pointing out the unhelpfulness of the tidbit, not trying to discount the entire question.
Hello . Would you mind checking the email we sent?
I probably will watch next week's trivia, but just the last bit to see who wins. Listening to a bunch of grown men whine about trivia questions gets old real fast.
Something about Brody I just don’t like🤮👍team cal for life!
Cal should be banned from Trivia.
Cal must be an only child biggest crybaby just won’t drop it
At this point I think it's Cals life mission to always interrupt the intro
