I’m 63 and have lived all my life in South Mississippi and have never seen this beautiful bird until this morning! What a splendid and awesome blessing to see!🎉❤🎉❤🎉
I'm in north MS (Grenada County) and we have had these beautiful birds at our feeders for more than 30 years, every April and May, and sometimes we see a few in the Fall. Had more this year than ever, as many as 20. We are truly blessed to see them during their migration.
Checking in for a first-timer. I've had feeders in my backyard (Saskatchewan) for 3 years and never actually saw one until 2 males discovered my feeders and bird bath the other day. Had to find out what these birds were!
Sure is a gorgeous bird. They showed up first week of may here in Pa. 7 males in feeder. They’ll stick around till 3rd week of august, He knows he’s handsome. Stunning colors. Patterns of exquisite beauty only God can create. I thank Him for eyes to behold and ears to tune into a small fraction of His handiwork.
My Grosbeaks have finally arrived! Last year wasnt a good year for them here in northern Tennessee. It was too cold. But I have had one male for the past few days….and today….3 more males and a female showed up! I am so excited to see them again!
@@notomatoesbbq That is awesome! They are so beautiful! Imagine my surprise when I happened to see 7 male Grosbeaks on my feeder at one time just this past week! First time ever!!! The females have shown up too. I have been taking pictures as fast as I can in order to catch as many as possible! Of course they are still battling the blackbirds, but they are holding their own! Now the beautiful Goldfinches have arrived, and they are more brilliant than ever! Along with the Indigo Buntings! This is a banner year for birds!!! Already had one house of bluebirds fledge too! I have been busy!!! Lol

@@notomatoesbbq Thanks, and the same to you! I am just south of Clarksville, in Cunningham, and north of Dickson. It will be interesting to compare notes wherever you guys are! Happy Birding from Cunningham!
As a girl in Ohio decades ago, I saw and heard one of these just once and they were already rare. Now that I hear this song, it brings back a clear memory. I live in France now and am considered weird cuz I want to know what all the new plants, birds, trees, animals, bugs and all of nature are! Lovely! I miss robins and fireflies so much! Funny what you miss when you immigrate!
Grosbeaks returned in my area of Ohio 2021 - and on... In fact- have slowed down on birdseed in August 2022, and am watching one right now at the bird feeder. He plants himself there and delicately removes an occasional sunflower seed. Grosbeaks have extremely good manners in spite of the “gross” portion of their name. Their songs are a delight!
Same here! I've lived in TN for over 25 years and this is also the first time I've seen these gorgeous birds at any of my feeders. I have 2 males and probably some females but they are harder to identify. I've also been getting blue finches. Never had those before either, just the yellow ones.
I've seen them at least three times in the past 2 years here in Tn they are so beautiful to watch they love hanging around the feeder before the woodpecker and the blue jay family come
I just had the experience of seeing one of these in eastern Massachusetts at my feeder just two feet away. They are truly stunning birds and it’s thrilling to see them up close and personal. Thanks for posting!
Saw the first one of the year a few days ago (it was actually the day my grandma passed😢 April, 30th 2020). These guys are a regular at our feeders every year in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. They are both me and my dads favorite because of their song. Beautiful birds.
I have them every year. They cover my feeders and I love them! This year I had 5 pair! They are so beautiful. They usually arrive at our house at the end of April to the first of May, stay for 3-4 weeks until it starts getting warm. Yesterday was May 14 and I think they have left. I haven’t seen any today. I live in northern Tennessee. They are such beautiful birds! I always look forward to having them visit. It is awfully quiet now without them! ☹️
I just saw the first one at my feeder just now. A migrator here in Virginia. Last night about 200 million birds migrated and about 14k flew over my town. He must have stopped to fuel up! ❤️
This is the first year we've had them at our feeders. They've been here for a few days now. Very cute! They just sit on the feeders eating sunflower seeds! Males & females.
My first sighting of a Rose-breasted Grosbeak (M) was today on my birthday July 6th while fishing. I heard it at first thinking it was a Robin also. No fish but seeing this bird made my day. Ontario/Canada
I have a mini-sanctuary with numerous feeders and feed, and all-of-sudden this new bird shows up eating the safflower seed. Fortunately, I got it on my camcorder and later discovered it was a Rose-breasted Grosbeak. What a cool-looking bird.
I've been feeding and watching birds for about eight years and today for the first time I have finally seen this Beautiful bird feeding at my new home in Centereach NY
Just saw our first one in suburbs-30 miles nw of Baltimore,MD on our deck's birdfeeder. I've never seen one before. Just beautiful- song & appearance. Thanks for posting this.
I live in Iowa & I saw a male for the 1st time this afternoon. I was dying to find out what kind of bird it was. I was so glad it stayed at the feeder as long as it did... gave me a chance to admire it for a bit.. & he came back to eat more only 10 minutes later!
Today I saw for the first time ever in my 64 years this type of bird at my feeders. Four males and 1 female in a small flock. They may have been on their way to Western NC nesting grounds, passing through the middle of the state. They are stunning and thank you for posting this amazing video.
Getting to see the Rose Breasted Grosbeak is always a joy, but getting to hear him sing is so wonderful! We get to see them this time of year, in May, for several weeks, then he moves on! Thank you for sharing this!
We just had one of these on a our porch feeder yesterday. The female came along and joined him and I wondered how long I'd been seeing the female not knowing what she really was! Thank you for making this beautiful video! Video and sound are amazing!

Yea, anyone feeding seed mix with millet and stuff is a dope: 99% of birds won't touch millet, they just spit it on the ground and go for the sunflower seeds.
