How you feel about aldehydes? Do you like them or not?
Aromatics Elixir is missing from your list. I have layered Chanel No5 and Clinique's Aromatics Elixir, for 35 years, it's my signature scent.
It's hard to top, but I am trying new scents, buying samples.
Lazy sunday here!!! Clean and simple but with a crisp of something classic to me, I know now is the aldehyde. I will try more scents with that formula.
Yea I have and like Lazy Sunday Morning. Unisex and I'm a dude. It's great on......Sunday mornings.
I used to have a hard time with aldehydes and would stay away from them. But now that my nose has matured, I appreciate them much more. I've been hunting down some vintages and Miss Dior edc and edt are probably the most stunning aldehydic chypres ever. fresh floral then smoky leathery... it's so beautiful! I was so happy to see Horla in your list bc I've been obsessed with that fragrance since I purchased it in December. I'm already burning through my 30ml bottle, lol! I'll need to add that Miguel Matos fragrance... sounds right up my alley.

I absolutely love aldehydes in perfume & love vintage scents one of my favourite aldehydic scents is Champagne/Yvresse by YSL & Mitsouko by Guerlain I am impressed by the fact that you are so young yet understand & appreciate aldehydic scents so many younger reviewers only like those sickly sweet saccharine raspberry fruity scents you truly are a scent connoisseur
Oh yes thank you. Indeed, aldehydes is something that young people don't tend to like probably because they are associated with "old" perfumery.

My fave is Pikovaya dama. Aldehydes are quite classic and need an experienced nose to appreciate

Queen of making epic lists! I really need to try Horla, maybe I’ll end up blind buying it since I liked pretty much all his other fragrances. Dorophilia and Rules of Attractions are amazing, they weren’t love at first sniff, but now I need them in my collection. You see, watching your videos is good for my nose but not so much for my wallet😂
Oh yes horla might be not the safest but definitely a very special perfume to blind buy and although usually I always suggest to sample first, I love this one so much that I can only encourage you😉
I love aldehyde for their vintage, clean and solar feel they give.

Blanche is really really really good. Yes it smells like laundry detergent but a very expensive one. My ultimate aldehyde perfume

Good evening Yana! Wow, what a way to start of your Best Of series for 2021! I just loved this episode and I thought it was an incredibly enjoyable one. I learned a lot about a note that I don't suppose I have much experience with. I loved the Guerlain fragrances featured and also the way you described many of your choices. Congratulations on crossing one fragrance off from your 2021 Wishlist! Well done Yana! x

I've had a perfume for a while now (delice nacré from geparlys, cheap but so good) that smelled amazing , surely sweet but yet i couldn't indentify what made it so special, turned out it had aldehydes in top notes which was present the whole time, i'm surprised it is affordable
I love La Panthere by Cartier. Aldehydeic but not too much. I think it's a modern perfume but with a vintage twist. Love it, I blind bought it and it was exactly what I was hoping for, such a beautiful surprise. 🥰

My favorite aldehydic perfume is Champagne du Bois, by Sonoma Scents Studio. It makes me so happy!!!
I used to think I did not like aldehydes because I am not a fan of Channel no 5, and I was closed minded to them. Now I understand that they offer brightness and fiz to a scent.
Yes it's common that aldehydes first are challenging but I guess the more experience one gets the more exciting they become. I put your favorites on the list🤍👍
I recently discovered what this note was and I’m in love! Byredo Blanche is my new favorite. I ordered the discovery sizes to try the brand and it’s such a pretty scent
Now I wanna try the Chanel one but I don’t want to smell like an “old lady”🤧🥴
These are my favourite types of episodes. You are so informative Yana and I really appreciate it. To be honest, aldehydes aren’t my favourite, but I’m willing to give them more of a try.

@@Tommelise I absolutely adore Maison Margiela Lazy Sunday Morning and I had no idea it had aldehydes. If there are other clean ones like that, I would definitely try more aldehydes.
Love this video Yana, hope you are doing well. I love Blanche when I want to wear a clean fragrance. If you would like that fragrance to last longer on your skin get the body cream and use a little bit on your arms and chest and then spray the fragrance and it will last all day.

Aldehydes are not my favourite note, however I think it's one of those notes that you need to grow to. And I'm slowly getting there. I'm starting to like Chanel 5 so I'll probably rewatch this video in a year or two to search for perfect fragrance :D
Oh yes perfectly. Some notes just take longer but once you'll get there.. Oh gosh there is no coming back 😉
@@Tommelise i actually like Not a perfume by Juliet has a gun, I guess this is full aldehydes and it does smell very clean. Although I prefer this neroli/orange flower type of laundry/detergent ish smell, Not a perfume is really nice as a squiky clean scent 🤍
Yea, my first exposure to an aldehyde BOMB, truly over-dosed aldehydes fragrance was Xerjoff Pikovaya Dama. And it was WAY TOO MUCH. It was as if I was pumping some industrial strength cleaner directly into my nostrils. It was offputting, and in MY view, unrefined perfumery. Previously, my experience with aldehydes was very carefully dosed uses in masculine fragrances like Penhaligon Sartorial and Hermès Equipage. There it was done beautifully. But Pikovaya Dama opened my eyes to the note. Similar to other notes for me, like cumin and animalics. Small, artful doses can actually enhance a composition, but too much will definitely ruin it. BTW, Chanel No. 5 is said to be an "overdose" of aldehydes, but it is not. Compare with Pikovaya Dama.
I know what you mean...definitely try some from this list,depending on your taste you'll find something nice I am sure

@@Tommelise I got a 7ml bottle for 25e I believe from their website. It's lovely, yes! The title matches the scent, if Angels had a scent!
I am curious what you think of Aldehydes 44 by Le Labo? I love this scent but it is hard to get!
Unfortunately, I've never smelled it
When I was just getting back into fragrances, I found aldehydes particularly unappealing - not necessarily because of the vintage association, but because I spent so much time around formaldehye in medical labs and the aromaticity just got to my nose. 😕 Luckily, after sampling so many beautiful compositions from the past, I came to understand their use in perfumery. Still not the healthiest material to use, but certainly effective in increasing projection. A great roundup Yana!

Could I layer blanche with Moschino fresh couture ? Cause I've personally find the fresh couture is pretty weak I need to drown me in juice lol 😂 And I gotta pick up a bottle of musk noble and der duft monopteros and a bottle TF metallique
You can layer anything you want with anything you want 👍
