    Good video that showing how the belt goes on.
    Bad video because it would be more informative to show how to get the belt on while the engine is in the car.

      Right, I get that its more educational this way but I dont have a mechanics shop to pull my engine out so how do I do it like a normal person?

    Your video was great it was straight to the point with a clear and unobstructed view of the whole process I loved it. Hopefully your video can help my stubborn uncle who's working on one in Fresno and refuse to video on how to place one so I thought that maybe its because other videos are obstructed or too lengthy so I look and I came across this thumbnail of one outside the vehicle, which was just what I was looking for, so perfect it fits what we're looking for.

    This video helped a lot first off I was looking for a video that showed how to take off and replace the tensioner pulley and replace it but then the second time I watched this it helped me to install the belt. I almost put it on wrong lol but this is the third time watching only to leave this comment….. great video just mention how hard it is to do while the motor is in the vehicle lol

    I have a question the other day while driving my serpentine belt came off and caused my 2016 Jeep Patriots power steering to lock up, the ac stopped working, it got hot, and my battery died...my husband came to help me and noticed it was my serpentine belt that had come off and caused everything to screw up he put it back on and i made it home but the next day I went to buy a new belt and he put it on but it appears to be misaligned and i recently replaced the alternator, the lower idler pulley, the accessory drive belt tensioner was replaced yesterday because we thought that was what was causing the misalignment but it wasnt because it still appears to be misaligned so my question is what do you think it is that is causing my belt to run crooked? And is there a way to test each of the pulleys to see which one exactly it is that is causing the problem?

  • @wandakilgore8515

    Is it easy enough to do by taking off the overfill container? I have to replace the tension pulley and it seems like it's easier to get to from the top?

  • @chicmechanic4060

    Chic Mechanic here. Just did this. Without taking the tire off or jacking it up. I turned the wheel sharp to the right. Took off the side cover. Crawled under it. Easy pezzy lemon squeeze. I'm savage. Not like most chics.

    Buddy...... people are looking at your video because they can't find a diagram for the serpentine belt. Less talking, less hands on the video, stay still while working the camera and you will achieve a great video that everyone can benefit from. Please take this as constructive criticism, nothing more. Thanks for the video, I got my belt put on.

    Morning guys what is the size of belt of Dodge caliber 2006 model crd

  • @Sarm-mx6qy
    @Sarm-mx6qy 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Auto Zone had a 100.5" belt that was so tight I and another person just could not get on. I then measured the new belt and the original that removed and found the new one to be about an inch too short. So back to Auto Zone I go I now have a new belt nearly identical inn length to the original belt. Still no joy whenever I pull the tensioner pulley with my 5/8 wrench I still can't get it on. I'm getting nervous now cause the wrench keeps popping off the tensioner pulley bolt and its slowly stripping it. Why is this so hard for me. I've watched all the videos and they say pretty much the same thing but why am I haven't such a tough time? I have a 2008 Dodge Caliber with 1.8L engine. 5 speed manual transmissible and I do have A/C. I went with a 101.5 belt and its not easier. I'm on my own so any help would be great. Advice that will work for one person cause I'm alone. But I'll take all the advise you got. Thanks. What size belts did you guys use? And what pulley did you pull the belt over for final installation?

    • @brittneyk331
      @brittneyk331 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      first of all dodge vehicles are metric not sae so you need to find a metric size wrench that fits sorry i dont know the exact size but hope that helps with why you were slipping off cheers and good luck on future repairs just keep in mind that while a sae size wrench may fit its not the "right" fit so if you have them use metric tooling :)

      It's a 16 mm bolt. Use a serpentine belt tool i20 bucks, t makes it a lot easier. I made a tool to help me guide the belt onto the pulleys with an old antenna and bent the end at a 90 degree angle. Works like a dream.

      i watched a guy replace one pulley and it was a PitA to get the belt back on. There is enough clearance to get down to the "finishing" pulley with an extender on your wrench but it is not easy. having the engine hanging there like that really makes it look easy
