    I'm fairly new to the world of air guns.
    I've had cheap Crosman pumps since I was a kid. About 3 years ago I bought my first break barrel, a Benjamin.
    However Last Christmas I bought myself a Walther lgu varmint, and it is the greatest thing since sliced bread.
    I shoot in my backyard at 20 yards, and it is pellet on pellet accurate.
    Now I got to get a PCP... And I'm thinking Umarex Gauntlet in 22.
    Keep up the good vids, great work from America.

    Awesome work with the hunt. We use the same method of field dressing for mourning doves here in the states. They're extremely delicious wrapped in bacon, and grilled over charcoal. Cheers, y'all. A video well done.

    Great vid matt .. and young andy was excellent both in being patient and quality of his shooting .. the brocock certainly is a fantastic rifle , got mine with carbon hi-lite bottle , slapped a small hugget belisha ( obviously spelt wrong ) and a optisan evx 10 x 44I scope , it one of my favourites too shoot , not pellet fussy (.177) the only slight problems are that the shroud has a rough texture , NOT a problem in itself but when you touch it , it kind shaves skin of your fingers ( probably not the best subscription ) leaving a dusty appearance .. mind you , its easily wiped off with a either a damp lint free cloth .. or a smidgen of balistol on the aforementioned cloth .. the trigger is slightly heavy on the second stage ( had it adjusted at shop , as its under warranty ) great now . Also there is a slight " clunk " when the trigger is deployed , this is the hammer apparently ..not a real problem ... all in all its one of my favourite rifles ..accurate ( very ) stylish , light , and dare I say " sexy " .. I dont work for brocock , but all I can say ..if you have a anchoring too buy a new / another or first pcp .. trust me ..you wont go wrong with the bantam sniper hr ... you MIGHT even pull some crumpet in the process ..it is that good
    Super show matt .. was expecting too see you at weston park .. alas , I didnt see anyone from youtube channels there ... not too worry , I recon there will be a few at the NEC next feb ...

      I really like the Sniper HR, and I know exactly what you mean about the finish of the shroud.
      Sorry to miss you at the Midland. I was there on the Saturday, and intend to be at the BSS in Feb.

    Being able to turn the power down is handy for close range rat shooting, in sub 12 ft/lbs a 2 stage setting would probably suffice, but it's a rifle designed for an international market so economies of scale apply, and it keeps costs down just having the one type of part made for the venturi restrictor that's fitted.

  • @casualobserver77
    @casualobserver77 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I just thought of a quick question regarding the Walther lgu... And other Spring Guns I guess.
    How long of a period of time is it considered safe to have your Spring Gun cocked and ready to shoot?
    I'm always afraid to leave it cocked more than 10 or 15 minutes for fear of hurting my spring...
    Anyone who knows the answer to this I'd be really happy to hear from them...

    • @geebee3d
      @geebee3d 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      casualobserver77 ... there was a thread on gateway to Airguns not too long ago about leaving Springers cocked for periods of time. Dude left a Springer cocked for 48 hours and lost 8% of his velocity.
      The general consensus from the thread is that a few hours cocked for hinting won’t hurt the spring

    May I ask if this LGU is standard? I want one for bunnies and birds up to 30 or so metres but worried it may not be powerful enough in .177? Some say they are target rifles only?

    When hunting, how long would you say is acceptable to keep the rifle cocked and loaded, before you should worry about spring compression problems?
    Many thanks.

      i dont go past 15 minutes never been told this as fact but as youve said leaving a rifle cocked too long must do somethibg to the spring. same for my bows de string after use. never leave to long strung, different from the pistol crossbow mind

    Please start doing honest reviews on the guns/kit you guys show. You always give amazing feedback on everything, even if the product is crap. We all know you guys get paid to give good reviews on products and I guess its the same in the magazines. That's why lots of people prefer watching the average Joe who isn't paid or endorsed by the company like you guys are, they will give real world feedback and honesty. It's a shame everyone sells out just to make money these days.

    • @theshootingshow
      @theshootingshow  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Perran,
      Our reviews are all genuine and carried out over several days of testing. Most people can get hold of the equipment we review and would soon tell us, and no doubt make it very public, if they disagreed with out evaluation of the the product. Looking at the comments here, viewers certainly seem to be in agreement with the review of the Brocock Bantam Sniper HR.
      We wouldn't recommend anything that we wouldn't use ourselves, and have sent back plenty of kit that we don't think is up to scratch.
      Best wishes. Mat

    dont they teach gun safety in the UK? Crossing a fence with your rifle ... keep seeing laxed safety practices -- yeah its an airgun, get it, but practice common sense cross fencings as f it were a real rifle as a lot of young folks will pick up the habit correctly.
