Subbed i think fishing is really fun ive got a shad before on a jig head ive heard there mostly bait fish but next time i catch them i will try it im just starting to fillet so its a little bit different to try to fillet boney fish but thank you for how to catch shad you earned a subscriber
Interesting that you fish for shad with a bobber, I haven't seen anybody around here in Ma fishing that way.Maybe because here, they tend to be in the fastest part of the current, so the drift will be way to fast.
Yeah it is. YOu gotta make sure the barb is filed down bc sometimes the officers use the line test when they slide a fishing line on the hook and if it catches the hook at the barb part then they will give you a ticket. I actually sell barbless jigheads on Etsy.com. Here is the link if you are interested. www.etsy.com/listing/1685346019/barbless-132-oz-jig-heads?click_key
Right now I believe most shad are in the American River so you want to go there. In this video, I am fishing at Hazel Ave and we got some more once it was too dark to film, but it is still considered slow like I said in my latest community post.
Another great video thank you for sharing!
Thanks man! I appreciate the support.
That looks fun. Nice looking shad.
Thank you. It was a slow season, but I at least got a few. Hopefully next year, we get more fish in our system.
That was an awesome breakdown of your process. Those shad runs look like a blast.
They broke two of my fishing rods last year lol

I appreciate it and yes you should try eating it for yourself to see if you like it or not. It is an acquired taste I think.
Another video from the goat ! 🎉 Appreciate the content fam !
You got it! I appreciate the support.
Nice catches!
Thanks man. I had hope for better action this day, but it does not always work out.

You should try the bobber set up there bc we have spots here where the flow is faster so we use heavier weight to slow down the drift.
What spot is that?
This was at the American River by Hazel.
is hazel ave barbless?

What part of the American River is that?
That's what I want to know. 😮?
This is over there by Hazel Ave.
Cool thanks. Might have to check it out soon
What part of the American river are you fishing from.??
We were fishing in the Hazel area. There are quite a few spots to test out. Good luck out there!
@calloftheoutdoors8941 thanks for letting me know we're the spot. Have a great day 💯
🔥🔥🔥
Whats up man!
Nice video, I try 3times to shad fishing at American river not much luck, Bytheway where did you get fly hooks?
Shad fishing this year has been bad. Others are saying the same. I got the flies off of Amazon.
