Strasbourg, France is a hidden gem. It's the perfect place to go for an affordable romantic weekend getaway or just a quick day trip! In this video, I'm going to give you some of my favorite things to do in Strasbourg and show you where they are on a map so that it'll be easy for you to find them!
There are many amazing attractions in Strasbourg that you should check out! Some of my favorites include the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Palais Rohan, Barrage Vauban, Ponts Couverts, and the Strasbourg Christmas Market.
The Notre Dame Cathedral is one of the most iconic sites in Strasbourg. It's a beautiful Gothic cathedral that was built in the 12th century. It's well worth a visit! The Palais Rohan is another must-see attraction in Strasbourg. It's a beautiful palace that was built in the 18th century. It's home to some amazing artworks, and it's definitely worth a visit.
Finally, don't forget to check out the Strasbourg Christmas Market! It's one of the biggest and most famous Christmas markets in Europe, and it's definitely a highlight of Strasbourg!
Strasbourg has a long and fascinating history. The city was first settled by the Celts in the 4th century BC. It then became a Roman city, and it was later conquered by the Franks in the 5th century AD.
Strasbourg played an important role in the Middle Ages, and it was an important center of trade and culture. The city reached its peak in the 14th century, and it was then ruled by the Holy Roman Emperor.
Strasbourg experienced a decline in the 17th century, but it began to recover in the 18th century. The city became a part of France in 1681, and it played an important role in the French Revolution. Strasbourg is now a major center of culture, education, and industry. Today, it is one of France's cultural centers, known for its famous Christmas Market.

just walk around this city, really worth several days of tour there
Agreed! One of our favorite cities in Europe
Very nice work! Great quality, pleasant narrative and timing plus very good places/recommendations... I was missing travelling channels like this one. Keep the good quality up!
Thanks!
Another place on my bucket list. This is so beautiful. I think I'll hire a bike to get around though. My kind of place
❤️
I just booked a week trip to Strasbourg on a whim after watching this video. It will be my first time visiting France should be fun! Should I fly into Paris or Frankfurt to get there most efficiently?
Both work just fine so I’d opt for whatever airport is cheaper for you or has the easiest way to get there
Are you American? If I was you I should fly to Paris. Frankfurt is better connected with Strasbourg but if you decide to stay a night in the city of arrival I should definitely go for Paris. Allied bombings destroyed the whole old town of Frankfurt in WW2, nowadays they have a lot of skyscrapers over there. Thus not the typical European city. If you only want to visit Strassbourg (which you can see in a day or 2) I recommend flying to Frankfurt. Germany is better developed than France although Paris is a nicer city than Frankfurt. I think there are way better cities in Europe than Paris which is kinda overrated by Americans and Asians. For instance London, Vienna, Barcelona, Lisbon or Prague. Enjoy your trip man!
My husband and I are going to Strasbourg in October. I discovered that we can take a train right at CDG, the airport, all the way to Strasbourg. It’s not expensive and you avoid having to go into Paris, if you don’t want.
Definitely Paris with a easy connection to the TGV you get in Strasbourg in 1.45h
Go with Eurostar, more civilised than flying
lived there for 20 years so yes I would recommend. very pleasant in the summer, and a lot of things to see in the winter with the market. nice video thank you!
though I need to point out, you mispelled a lot of words
Appreciate the comments
Dont misunderstand though, french is meant to be butchered by the brits. Especially in alsace with all the germanic names too.
Ill keep saying leicester wrong in return 😂 its only fair
😂
Hi there how about during christmas season?
@@mewhoelse2840 its very nice with a lot of artisan markets around the city, interlinked with streets decorated with lights. Also there are a few specialties that are only available around that time. Some types of beer, warm wine, and special xmas biscuits. The cathedral area with the medieval style district is especially nice, at all seasons tbh.
Though this isnt the only place where you can experience this. The tradition is of germanic origins (alsace having seen its border move a few times throughout the centuries, the culture is a bit mixed with french and germanic traditions).
Incredible drone shots!

You are from France? You are doing interesting! Good videos. Keep making new videos. Like!

Thanks!
Awesome content 😊👍
Thanks
The figure embellished on the buildings in the Egyptian Quarter are Egyptian not Asian as you say in your vlog. Egyptian mania was a big thing at the time with the discovery of the tombs full of artefacts in Egypt so that art form made its,way into parts of Europe

great video!!
Thanks!

Background music name please
I love your enthusiasm but it's very disappointing that your narration does not match with the video. The out of focus thing is plain annoying. Strasbourg does look beautiful though and somewhere we plan to stay for a few days.
Okay
Can you hire bikes or scooters in strasbourg?
