They sound fine, idk what you’re used to but trust me, there’s much worse tuning out there and ours are good for what we use them for
why are they called quads if there are 5 drums? i understand they're named that but im curious why they don't have a separate name
Quads or tenors is a general name, Quints is more accurate for this set though

Quads is generally used for the tenors
These are caked quints and the ones with 6 drums are called sextets
They are mostly called quads primarily cause of the 4 drums in the middle
perfectly safe, nothing to see here.
