This is my favourite deck! I saw it last year and fell in love with it but couldn’t find it anywhere, then I saw it was coming out on mass market so I had a whole year to wait!! 😢 then when I got it I was a bit disappointed as the mm version isn’t as nice… the card stock isn’t great and the colours are dark and muddy. There’s details you can’t see. However I do like the more zoomed out images of some of the cards in the mm version. Then I managed to find the mm version in a shop in Finland so I got it! (And a backup copy 😂!) it’s kind of its own system but the art is beautiful. If it’s a deck you use often, like any deck, you get to know the cards even though the indie version doesn’t have the equivalent titles. I wouldn’t be without this deck it’s wonderful.
@ No, I don’t. I was just looking for something in Norse mythology. Curious. But you said it has it’s own system. I may just wait until I have the bandwidth.
@@TrioofWitchesTarot hmm looks like it has a good guide book. The more I think about it the more I think I should probably start with a book on the subject first
Lol, I love this deck! I have the indie, and I read the book. I love how it's written. I agree it doesn't exactly follow a system, but if you let the cards be the characters, it definitely works! I just sounded the names out. With a little push from an older Hani video, from when the deck came out.. again, you don't have to be perfect or Google the word, and it'll give you a pronunciation recording. I like the original deck design. I agree with both things you said. The blue circles are similar, but I like the air/cold idea, and if you become very familiar with the stories, it doesn't really matter... the courts were kind of tricky, but I think it all works out. It would be great if a Finnish reader was able to give us some insight. However, interestingly, I was listening to a lecture on Norse runes one day, and the professor brought up a part of the story (Lemminkainen's mother, and how she had to find all his body parts and put him back together) I absolutely recognized the story!
Thank you Tamipie. I wish my brain wouldn't get hung up on how to pronounce the words but it does. And that pulls me out of a reading. It will take a lot of work and study for me to use this deck effectively. The whole pronunciation think is a barrier for me with my non-english decks. My brain just gets caught up there.
Im fairly sure my son has bought me the mass market version for Christmas..Im so excited for it. As i dont have the indie version I wont miss the differences 😅 I agree many of the mass market card colours are muddier and darker than the indie deck, which is a shame. Thanks for the comparison ✨️😘
I'm sure you will enjoy it. It's a bit of a toss up which version is "better". I should take the time to pull out which cards I prefer in each version and see what the tally is.

Oh lucky you to have found it in Finland! I'd love to have a backup. I'm glad for the quality of the card stock though. I think it should last.
I’m glad you did this. I was thinking about getting it.
Do you have the indie?

@ there is a Norse tarot on Etsy I've been eyeing. www.etsy.com/listing/1808586986/
@ the imagery is definitely not standard tarot.

@TrioofWitchesTarot I totally understand. I never could read Lord of the Rings because of the names.
