And all the stuff on New Moon, B -Sides and all the stuff left off New Moon that’s all from that period. It’s an insane amount of material. Prolific seems like an understatement here.
I downloaded this interview back in 2006 through limewire, when I was in college and had just begun my obsession with Elliott a year after his death. I remember I used to have the first class at 7 am, and used to wake up at 6:20 or so... And I had my PC hooked up to the big speakers, and I remember I used to throw this show on, while I was in the shower.. I knew this lasted 30 mins or so, and I always used to nod out while in the shower... But whenever I played this interview/performances by the time it was over, I knew it was time to get out of the shower, since I only had 10 more minutes to get to college and to class... There was no TH-cam back then, so shows like this on Limewire or Ares were extremely rare to find, and hard to download since the files were very heavy and the file would cancel before the download was done.. this show and this interview were priceless on my musical education. This show is one of the reasons why I still have such a connection to Elliott's music, and if it wouldn't have been for having listened to this show all those mornings, I really don't know where my music taste would have turned into for a Mexican kid in Mexico like me. Thanks Elliott..thank you Ares/limewire thanks morning becomes becomes eclectic. Thank you Division Day. and thank you TH-cam for making it so easy to find, lost in darkness shows like this.

@@judasrefusal Hey, thanks man, you’ve made my day. Yeah I love Angeles and the other fantastic Elliott songs. I really wish I could say to Elliott: All will be fine and we are together. Hey "I remember Elliott", today I remember Elliott...on this tragic Day...with this beautiful Interview. I always come back to him, to his music and finally to listen to everything he had to say, musically, personally and in these 25minutes. ...Elliott, we love you. Thank you for making me feel better.
Another cool Elliott post, thanks. Poor Elliott just never felt comfortable doing interviews. Chris Douridas is a good interviewer, and even he couldn't get much out of him. The music performances are beautiful, as usual. Such a dichotomy, a brilliant writer and performer, but never really comfortable playing or talking in front of others. At least we have a good number of recordings of Elliott playing and interviews to enjoy and remember him. I really wish he was still here. Peace.
I think you guys are both over analyzing and reading too much into it Elliot was just a mellow low-key guy who wasn't going to talk your ear off He was fine in the interview they always seem to enjoy it and answered all the questions in a reasonable fashion You have to remember that everyone has their ups and downs and we all respond to moments and questions with how we're feeling at that instant If we can learn anything from eliot's misfortune is that drug suck and don't do them. Also try to live a healthy lifestyle and take care of yourself and don't get into the downward spiral of self-neglect self-destruction and drug abuse But it seemed to me that Elliot certainly liked playing music and at time seem to enjoy talking about it and he certainly seem to care about making music and unfortunately he just dealt with some tough childhood experiences and the pitfalls of falling into drug addiction and I think people just read too much into these interviews or somehow I expect because he's an awesome musician that he's going to have awesome responses to every question which is not really reasonable for anyone
Doubt it. Would be too direct. Also he didn't do many drug songs. The few he did among his best so he's known for that but rly there aren't that many references to addiction/Etc
Just randomly caught this, aight I guess I was never much I to interviews. But what stuck was he out of it, tired, really doped up, maybe w/d idk but could barely finish a sentence, yetu performed perfectly, virtuosic guitar never missing a note or emphasis, sang as well as ever ppl who can do that scare me.

I actually like "broken" more, I like how it analogizes LA to such a broken mess.
I like broken, poisonous seems to be a reference to drug injecting, no?
