Really there is NO other surgery where the patient has so many choices to make. It’s overwhelming and surgeons often try to push premium lens because they make more money
it is true, that patient has a lot of options to choose from.
but I am not agree with the point about pushing the patient to premium. yes, it brings more money and same time it brings a significant value to the patient sight. in my experience surgeons rather reluctant to push to premium - it is more complicated to "sell" and patients in many cases are not fully happy with the visual acuity at distances the patient wants

Maybe you can answer my question?.. 4 months ago, I had Panoptix IOL and the vision outcome is very blurry. What's more is that objects that should be perpendicular to the horizon are slanted off to the right. The surgeon also talked to the girl in the room about what she should have done with her own IOL or lens exchange, throughout my surgery, even while vacuuming and placing the lens. Is it dangerous to do microscopic surgery while being distracted and talking? Could that have caused my bad outcome?

No, generally talking during the surgery is a common practice for experienced surgeons, however that is no direct sign of the surgeon's professionalism.
the situation you experienced might be related to number of issues like IOL tilt, wrong axis of toric lens, retinal issues and so on. The best way to identify the source of the problem is to discuss it with your surgeon and look for a second opinion in case of unsatisfactory results. Vision shall be relatively sharp and visual acuity shall be in normality range for far and shall allow reading at about 40cm in good lightning conditions with that lent, if everything done properly
Hi, My age is 49 (Type 2 diabetic) and I have been recommended to go for ED IOL Impress or ED Vivity - IQ for my left eye. My primary work is on PC monitor and soldering / repairing electronics. I don't drive and do basic news paper / magazine reading . Can you please advice what's good for me. Thanks

After more than one year ago with IOL lens replacement i am so happy until today. I started a hobby making some detail jewels and couldnt´s see all the fine details. IOL was designed for 20-30cm-> infinity. I did know that but hopefully i had old glasses to see even the smallest hair when working with small objects. Generally IOL is a good choice for me. yes, as I explained - no IOL will give this extremely crisp fine details close-up vision, unless you select a monofocal IOL and discuss with the surgeon to aim a target refraction to about -3D. but in this case far vision will be too blurry without glasses for far vision. I believe that in your case the best way to use glasses for that tiny hobby.

So confusing!! I have been to 4 Eye surgeons, each Dr was offering all products from 1 manufacturer, each one recommended to me different types / brands. 1 monofical distance, 2 multi focal, 1 light adjustable that he doesn't provide but the 1 multifocal Dr does do LAL but he didnt recommend LAL me.

To help narrow down the best choice for you, I'd like you to share more about your day-to-day activities, hobbies, and work requirements. Specifically, how you use your vision throughout the day can give us good insights. For example:
Close Work: Do you often read, sew, or engage in activities that require good near vision?
Computer/Intermediate Vision: Is much of your time spent at a computer or tablet?
Outdoor Activities/Driving: Do you drive frequently, especially at night? Are you involved in outdoor activities that might require sharp distant vision?
And any additional detail such as a desire to reduce dependence on glasses or specific visual challenges you face would be highly beneficial. This information will guide us to define your needs effectively and then select the best IOL option based on those needs. Then your medical status may play a role in selection, but we shall start from your lifestyle. It is the base of IOL selection
31 (m) here. Minus 2.25 on both eyes. I'm getting ICLs implanted next week. My current corrected vision with glasses is 20/10. I'm looking forward to seeing without glasses after the operation but I'm afraid of losing uncorrected visual acuity due to the fact that getting 20/10 vision out of ICLs is almost unheard of. I hope I'll be able to adapt to 20/20 vision.
Good luck. 20/10 is an incredible sharp vision. I guess you are talking about far with the best correction and your aim is to be free of glasses. Please share your experience later.

Thanks. It's only corrected 20/10 vision if I use both of my eyes together. Each eye has only corrected 20/13 vision on its own. Statistics show that I'll most likely be able to keep my corrected 20/10 vision if I choose to wear new glasses after the implantation.
I'd be able to drive a motorcycle, look at TV screens and do sports without glasses with 20/20 vision, so I hope ICLs will get me there.
I'm gonna get my ICLs next Friday, so I'll try to write to you how it went in a month or so, once my vision has stabilized.

I have a very important question for you and I wish you will reply. I am a 37 yo PSC patient and will go under a catarct surgery. I have -2.5D myopia and -0.75 astigmatizm. I definitely want sharp and clear vision on my eyes. It is not important for me to see close distances with eyeglasses or lenses. I just want sharp & clean vision even with glasses. I went to a op. doctor and he adviced Alcon AcrySOf IQ SN60WF for my eyes but as I make some simple search it is said that while SN60WF cause glistenings while the new generation of same brand Alcon Clearon monofocal lenses has no glistening, less surface scratching possibilty, less posterior capsul opacification possibility and provide more clear vision. What might be the reason that my doctor did not advice me Clareon? Could you please tell me the comparison of these two lenses with cons and pros? Which other lenses would you advice me to have sharpest and clearest vision even with glasses?

@@kamilcopur6513 no, Clareon is a material, the lens is nonofocal. Eyhance is a better option in terms of material (to Acrysof) and in terms of intermediate visual acuity.
@@iol-adviser Than clareon monofocal must definitely be a better option against AcrySof IQ monofocal. Right? What about J&J ZCB00 ? İs ZCB00 better than IQ & Clareon?
@@kamilcopur6513 Clareon is a new material, claimed to be similar in quality to ZCB, thus theoretically they are similar, but ZCB has about 18 years of safety records.

the worst IOL ever, which I do refer in my video is the IOL which is not matching your visual needs. and I'v tried to clearly explain why it happens and what is the reason for that.

@@iol-adviser Yes, but you have an ethical duty to match the sensitive title with serious content, and my expectation is the title discloses a manufacturer and model as "the worst..." . You didn't fulfill that for me and I pointed it out.
When I watch computer hardware review videos with titles that complain about something, like yours, I almost always learn about specific products that fall short.
I see what you mean, but I don't like it.
Imagine a video titled "The worst BMW vehicle". Inside, the video proclaims "...is the one you don't like to own/drive".
