Radhika Krishna is the 9th astapadi written by the poet, Sri Jayadeva. In this ashtapadi, the sakhi calls Lord Krishna to tell him that Radha suffers in separation (viraha) from her Lord. Things that usually are aesthetically pleasing to an her feel like torture to Radha. The pangs of separation weaken Radha's body to such an extent that she says is unable to even bear the weight of the necklaces on her chest and even the smooth, fragrant sandalwood paste that the sakhi applies to Radha's body feels like poison to her.
The poet likens Radha's face and her palm that is placed upon her cheek to the newly rising moon that appears motionless in the evening sky. Poet Jayadeva dedicates this piece to the feet of Lord Krishna and says that those who listen to it will be bestowed with happiness.
