Honestly this annoyed me for Li Dong's sake but he knew that Meiya didn't love him like that but he was willing to still get into a relationship and marry her. That is a miserable life waiting to happen for Meiya and Li Dong. You need to truly love the person that you are with not just appreciate them for all the support they've given you. I'm still miffed at Ou Yang. Oh he suffered too but he put her through hell. Just like his dad, he dropped his responsibilities of her on Li Dong's doorstep (including her bills) and walked away to get engaged to her bestie to twist that knife. He in effect lost her number and didn't contact her or see her. Li Dong was right in sucker punching him. He shouldn't have started a relationship with her. I would have sent her to France and let Ben take care of her. The Yakuza could have helped support her and Ben, she could have a job in r&d dept, ran the bakery with Ben, and annoyed Ou Yang with her being in a relationship with Ben. At least she saw him as her peer, not uncle. There are always other choices for partners. I love burning those bridges.

Ouyang is her soulmate, and the gentle guy knew that....which is why he was hitting that punching bag....for that long, his sister's crying was a bit much.
In the end of the day, Meiya don't have any selflove since she forgave him and CAME BACK TO HIM. I'm really tired of these kind of FL some Chinese dramas like to portrait, as a weak and passive - with no selflove and respect.

He didn't cheat, nor did he want to let her go. They thought they were siblings. The real villain was her so called best friend who stabbed her in the back. This was certainly great heartbreaking for Uncle Li. I actually did wish for her to love him because he was just so good and really loved her for a long time. But, that was not the script 🤷🏽. He deserved happiness. Would have been nice for them to have made time for that in this long drama.
@gianaturella237 He could have been honest with her about what was happening instead of being so cruel to her. It was completely unnecessary, and both he and her "friend" never properly made amends for their actions.
