    I'm slowly building up my stockpile. I live in an apartment so not a lot of space. But I'm doing what I can grabbing a little bit extra at a time every shopping trip. I truly appreciate everything you guys do to help everyone to prepare! I've learned so much from you! Stay strong and safe everyone! Be as prepared as you can be! God Bless 💙🙏🇺🇸

      First step would be to buy land, or know someone who has land or and house to share. Once you know you have somewhere to go, you will feel safe. ♥️

      It's hard to stockpile water in an apartment but if you have a water source nearby a big berkey would help can filter thousands of gallons with an $80 filter. Another idea is to look up "water bob" it's a fillable bag for water that has a spicket you can put it in your tub and fill it or buy 50 gallon storage totes then fill them up with water when it's an immenet threat that way you have hundreds of gallon of water on hand inside your home and you won't have to drink questionable water sources

    All good points. Interesting fact, not everyone understands the value of gold and silver. Good to have but have other bartering items such as spices, lighters/matches, and coffee. If things get short their obvious value makes more sense.

      Man is that true! The parents used to talk about that during the depression. My dad's mother used to make sourcrout to sell and trade with city people in the winter, because there was so little to buy in a store that people got diseases from vitamin deficiency. So food was gold then.

    Three lessons we got from the refugees, who came here:
    They didn't plan enough cash for rent or daily needs in another country and it left them destitute.
    Gold is lighter than silver to carry for emergency evacuation.
    Documents are important.

    This is a terrific video as usual! I greatly appreciate your INVALUABLE information and advice on a wide variety of topics. QUESTION: Is there a list of prepper groups in Florida?
    Bugging out sounds scary and grim but at least thinking about what I can do WITHOUT is a first step and positive start for me. As you all said, major prepping and preparing bug-out bags is overwhelming. I will have to concentrate on purchasing supplies, one day at a time, as I can afford them. Not everyone in this country can afford to purchase a large number of supplies, all at one time.
    Realizing millions of Ukrainians are literally bugging out has brought "bugging out" to the forefront of my thinking. Thanks for reminding us that you can only survive for 3 days without water. Three hours without oxygen? One of the first things I want to do is purchase one of those fabulous water filters you recommend. You guys are amazing! Your video on surviving a nuclear blast was terrific, too. Unfortunately, in bugging out, most people won't be able to carry with them a large stainless steel water filter. I would be carrying a cat carrier which is heavy with my cat inside!
    QUESTION: Without electricity and electronics, what do you think about everyone having a short wave radio? Or . . .would a Sat phone be the best?
    I honestly love you guys and Sportsman Guide rocks!

    Some things I learned: Have an emergency bag, get your passports in order, don't have kids and pets (they add even more complications and stress), have some emergency food and water (many had no food and water on the trains) don't live near targets where the army are more likely to attack you (remember the Dam busters too!), have waterproofs in case you have to walk miles, check on the elderly and make sure they have an emergency pack Medical stuff including adult diapers and Immodium (many people have IBS). Disabled people don't seem to have priority other than women with kids.People say stock nappies but incontinence can be a problem for many people, some young and old. I have been packing incontinent pads etc to Ukrainians. Don't get pregnant! Women are being heavily pregnant, proably with morning stickness, need to sit down but can't, and stuck on trains, alone, and I expect giving birth in awkward places, perhaps sometimes with twins. No doctors and equipment maybe around etc. Being pregnant makes you instantly vulnerable. You won;'t be able to walk miles. Also there are sex traffickers, lone men or 'kind couples' offering 'a lift'. As well as kind people who will help, one has to be ready for criminals who will exploit a disaster particularly vulnerable people. Looting is another issue, if you leave your home, it can be looted by other Ukrainians. Don't expect anything you will leave behind will be safe from the enemy or local people. When I was 'caught up in a riot' local people were just looting like mad. For women, they can take a menstual cup if they can, as pads may not be easy to come by. For female preppers, we need a lot of different essential things to men.

    Having cash
    Just an idea.
    Figure it what you want say $1,000.
    Now figure out how many of each bill ($1, $5, $10, $20, $50 $100) and over time out it away in an envelope.
    Now put together more envelopes because you will be wrong about how much money you need.
    also Silver is better than Gold. One Troy ounce of gold is something like $2,000 but one Troy ounce of Silver is $20. Much easier to buy 20 gal of gas for 20 silver coins )$400) than to get $1,600 change back from one gold coin

    The stocking up thing, I don't get. It's all going to run out, then what will you do? Better to learn things that will help you. I used to love taking foraging courses because they were fun, with a lot of people. But now, what I've done for the fun of doing, makes me aware of a whole field of groceries when I walk down the street. I've literally fed my friends a wild dinner until we were a stuffed, all because of learning. Stock up on skills.

    • @johnwaters8640
      @johnwaters8640 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Can you forage enough to survive in the winter? Can you forage in a city? Can you forage if you're being shelled by an enemy force? There are lots of reasons to stock up on food and supplies. Unfortunately sometimes they end up being in vain.

    • @AmericaFirstKorey
      @AmericaFirstKorey 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's not a game. When people become desperate (starving), they are completely irrational and unforgiving. This isn't an environment you want to expose yourself, or your family to. South Africa recently had riots and food shortages, the lines were literally miles long for a loaf of bread.

    • @hawkgrunt4182

    • @Hollylivengood
      @Hollylivengood 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@johnwaters8640 Yes, I've urban foraged and still do. We came away with a five gallon bucket full. Yes, there is a lot out there you can forage and save for the winter, but it's good to take some courses to properly identify your root vegetables, and learn to preserve appropriately. May I recommend Bigpig Outdoors if you are in the Tennessee/ North Carolina area? Of course it's good to stock up, but I think people benefite more from knowing what to do if you have lost these things.

    • @Hollylivengood
      @Hollylivengood 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AmericaFirstKorey Not saying it is a game. Just that I learned it with no intent at all of being serious about it, but learned that when all my neighbor are afraid of losing their groceries, my son and I are full. The only difference being, I learned to find what we need. I actually live in an urban setting, and a friend of mine said the same thing, like "what you gonna find here?" We walked down the street and found chard, scuppernongs, wild potatoes, dandelions, unending acorns, and a bunch of mimosa flowers - I know that sounds ridiculous, but mimosa is very good for you and has protein in the flowers. And that was in the hood. When your packaged items run out, it's good to have this knowledge. Good to learn how to hunt without all your bullets that will run out. Learn it now for when it happens later.

      If you wish to fight the enemy with only a bolt action rifle, fine. Just don't force others, what to do.

    Untrained people going back to fight is a very bad thing. The Volkssturm is very inefficient when facing professional army. They will not have 2-3 months to go through basic military training. So, you do not want to be in Volkssturm.
    The main thing I've personally learned - you need to act during the first two hours. Then the city roads are blocked by cars and they will start pulling men into Volkssturm.

    Ukraine - the Netherlands is a 22 hour drive in a car. Let’s say you get halfway using a car then half of that has to be walked. Sturdy shoes make you tired. Personally I would go with crocs + plenty of socks.
    People from the Ukraine got on safe property when they entered Poland: the border was the goal.
    Never go looking like a prepper or hiker. Hide everything that matters. From food, to coins and jewelry, water. Don’t show it, don’t share it.
    Even a quality backpack. Don’t. You want to blend in and look like crap. A plastic bag also protects against the rain.
    Almost 4 million have left Ukrain. While Russia throws bombs on farmers. That leaves Europe and Africa without grain, wheat, flower, bread and all that. When the Africans start dying they will start walking. Prepare. This is just the beginning.

    In addition to a handgun, I would carry a breakaction 12 gauge shotgun with several caliber adapters. Cut the shotgun barrel length to 19" long to make it easier to carry and possibly concealed, say under a poncho or long overcoat. Anything less than 18 1/2" barrel length is illegal. A shotgun is a very intimidating weapon to those who may want to do you harm. Multi caliber adapters are devices that slide into the breech of a single shot break action shotgun and can fire many other calibers of ammunition, think 45 ACP, 9mm, 38 spl, .22 LR, and even black powder. Short Lane Gun Adapters is one source for multi caliber adapters. A 12 gauge break action shotgun is very inexpensive, around $ 100 new, cheaper if you can find a used one. Ammunition is heavy to carry. Don't carry full sized 12 gauge shells, go with mini shells. Mini shells are about half the length and weight of full size 12 gauge shells so you can carry more in less space and weight. There are lots of good videos on TH-cam on single shot break action shotguns, multi caliber adapters, and 12 gauge mini shells.
