Crazy how capable bikes are these days, most think more power, real truth is suspension brakes tires and getting the bike set up for you makes a world of difference in rideability, great video
For the average rider: 1) lose weight 2) take a course to improve your riding skills 😄😁😆 Seriously, what about lighter wheels? And changing the whole exhaust by something lighter?
If your after lap times after comfort to move body position , a Bren tune and pipe can offer 20% more grunt which will change lap times. Id do this before suspension changes which are costly and not easy to set up.
Hey Sir that was very interesting stuff👍🏻 I've pretty much done all that, gearing, suspension, handlebars, footrests etc. Taken up all the idle free play on the throttle, but will be fitting a quick action soon. The tyres are the final stage for me, and yes those Michelin Power Cup 2s were on my list weeks ago. My RSV4 Factory will be flying round BH again very soon👍🏻
Actually good timing because I am going to track out my ‘12 R6. More focused on getting my body position as perfect as can before speed n modifications on bike though; but right now, healing up for crash I had about month ago.
great vid - looking forward to the series - especially having had a 2016 R1M a couple years back and going through a similar process ! just one thing. - Lap times for comparison of the effects of changes would have been really useful, to be honest they are essential !!
❤20yrs ago was when we were getting mind blowing production bikes affordable and INSANE PERFORMANCE!!! BIKES SCREAMING EVERYWHERE 😂WHEELIES 👍 👎 CRASHES!!! THOSE WERE THE DAYS. Now we get par twins with computer tech but oh well thats what the kids want. And retros, pretty cool. I go used every time been riding for + 20yrs. Thanks guys❤
I put a link below for you. The article is talking about car disc brakes, but it is the same design as motorcycle disc brakes. It sounds to me like the springs are important, and I would not remove them from a bike used on the street. The article shows a disc rotor that is only a few months old, and it's completely destroyed because it was used with the pad springs removed. carsmobilemechanic.co.uk/brake-pad-spring-clips-why-you-need-them/
@@BEEBEE159 I might consider it on my KTM 790 Duke I'm doing mods for Drag Racing Duties as I have an 890 Duke R for the street here are the mods so far th-cam.com/video/T0-KZHccFhA/w-d-xo.html
👈🏼 Nothing wrong with older sportbikes like my 21 y/o ZX9r, I could do all this and it already has no ABS or traction control etc, it has Pilot Power's a very good road version of those tyre's 😎
Pump your tires up hard, dress like rolly free and ride the same. Waste thousands of pounds on bolt ons. Just loose weight for better power to weight. Except your never going to ride your plastic fantastic nowhere near its full performance on the road. Only the road racers get close.

R1 engine is a master piece
masterpiece

Great work Bruce, lots of tiny chances accumulate to big performance improvements

Interesting how most people go straight for the exhaust change.
Still Yamaha isn't bringing the factory tune for R1, like Ducati bringing the factory tune for Panigale V4.

When does the next episode comes? We need more of it
Loved the Video Bruce, super relevant.
Do we have to buy the magazine to know your times with the different mods?
What was the time differences between the changes? would be great to know the tire time improvement and chain/sprocket difference...
Excellent video great stuff! Background music should be a bit lower, it was hard to understand at some times.

I think it would be awesome and very different if you also did this with the MT-10 this year...?

Every squid knows all you really need is a descent can and a few stickers. 😉
Would it be cheaper to start with the R1M rather than the standard bike as you get ohlins as standard and other ungrades as well
Ye, if ur built like a jockey 🏇 and know what u do.
I love Yamaha R1
Great video! But no lap times? :(. Also pull the abs fuse :). Yamaha abs kicks in way too early even with stock pads.
What does the brake spring clip do? Why did you take it off? Thanks, great video

Awesome and really informative. Pls pls pls do one on how to make bikes that we predominantly ride on roads go faster. :)
looking forward to the next one
Don't put background music when you are riding especially R1 and R1M.
Can you use this Change's only for the Track use only or on the Street as well?

Very interested 🙏🏻
Great vid though 👍🏻
Gearing does the trick
Love from India bro💙

Best upgrade is lighter wheels…carbon
How the heck does the camera stay level when the bike leans over?
New go pro 9 has that feature
