The rant begins at 22.19 😅 UPDATE: the Lisa Eldridge team got in contact to say they will be changing the lettering going forward!
Thanks for a different take on the price! I can see where people are coming from as it is expensive for the amount. I have also seen others commenting on the lettering coming off super quickly which honestly should not be happening at this price point. I do also think you make good points, and for the type of product it is (ie gel click up liner), it is comparable. As you pointed out, everyone has to decide for themselves - I personally microdose my makeup already. It’s just the look I like. I find actually that I frequently get too much product and struggle to finish it, so a small amount of product (at whatever price I’m willing to pay) is even what I prefer.
@@kerryarnot1997 thanks for your comment! That’s a great point about having less product, like you said sometimes you prefer less so that you actually get to use it up before the formula breaks down, that’s exactly why I bought a mini of the Hourglass concealer. It’s full coverage so I knew I’d only be using a small amount and probably wouldn’t get through a full size. I wish it was less expensive too, like so many makeup products I want to try, it’s up to me to decide if the price is worth it and sometimes you won’t know until you try it. That’s why I always recommend trying something in person if possible or reading and watching as many reviews as possible. 🫶🏻🥰
I like your take on it. I didnt buy it because I do my base in a different way, so it is not for me.
@@jessicaschwarz1698 that’s exactly it Jessica! Not every product will be for everyone and I like it that way or I’d want to buy everything 😅
I'm sorry but no. People have done their research. The amount of product you get for the money you pay is ridiculous. Even compared to other retractable eyeliners/lipliners you get even less product. Also, this concept of a pencil concealer is not new, it has existed in Korea for quite some time. In fact, it is also made in Korea and other comparable korean concealers (some of which are designed in the same lab and manufactured in the same factory as this) cost about a third of the price for this one. Yes, she obviously has a more extensive range than any of those brands, but I don't think that alone can justify the price. Don't get me wrong, I've been a fan of Lisa since the very beginning and I love her to death and I honestly don't think she is out to rob people. But this IS an extremely expensive product and, given the amount of product you get, I don't agree with the way she used it in her demo, basically using it all over her bare face (blemishes, microshadows, capilaries, pigmentation, undereye circles,...). If you have that much stuff to correct, you're better off using a light base and then using this to perfect the tiny details the base couldn't tackle.
And no, this is not comparable to the Patrick Ta controversy. There are LOTS AND LOTS of luxury brands with single eyeshadows that cost just as much or even more than those duos and I didn't see anyone grabbing their pitchforks. So I think people were being huge hypocrites in that case. But this case is different.
@@PlugInKali if you watched the video you’d see that a lot of the liners I compared it to were equal or less product for very similar prices and one was the exact same. I also mentioned the Korean brands and the fact this is made in Korea and I showed examples of brands who have similar products mostly with a couple of shades. Judging from the comments I’ve read, people really haven’t done their research, they are jumping on a bandwagon. As I mentioned in the video, this is a common thing on social media in the beauty community. There are plenty of brands that have expensive products and no one blinks an eye, I was pointing out that this literally has Micro in the name, it’s a concentrated product unlike traditional concealers. If you used a concentrated gel liner meant for the eyes all over your face you’d use it up very quickly and it wouldn’t be worth the money. I think you’ve missed the points I made in the video. I also said if you think something is too expensive don’t buy it, or contact the brand to voice your concern, that’s the only way to get brands to listen.
From what I’ve seen most retractable liners are 0.2-0.4 g of product and this is 0.4g so in line with them. I’ve seen a lot of people say these concealers are 0.04g but that’s incorrect.
