"But whether the Constitution really be one thing, or another, this much is certain - that it has either authorized such a government as we have had, or has been powerless to prevent it. In either case, it is unfit to exist." - Lysander Spooner

Yeah, it's fucked up. The Western masses wouldn't accept a King as their own "legitimate ruler"(!), but no one bats an eye at Saudi Arabia having a King.
Or maybe they all sense that a King == Dictator == BAD, but just can't connect the dots between _Government_ A and _Government_ B.

Well yeah, I forgot about the figurehead Kings of England and Sweden, and.. are there any others?
But they're not running the countries, they're more like mascots or something :P
Oh, and actual _humans_ don't even want to wield power over other people, but _psychopaths_ sure as fuck do.. and they run the world.

"But there'd be chaos without government." There's more chaos WITH government. Individuals may have arguments, those arguments may even turn into fights... but when governments have arguments, those arguments turn into wars. War is chaos.

  • @PeaceRequiresAnarchy
    @PeaceRequiresAnarchy 12 ปีที่แล้ว

Nice job with the sequel, Graham. I wouldn't bet that this one will go viral, but it does a good job responding to the many comments that you got on the first one that the government is a republic, not a democracy. The comments pointed this out as if it made all the difference, when in reality as your video shows, it really doesn't. All of the main problems inherent in government still exist in a constitutional republic.

it not just that you need them..it that like it or not their always going to be some sort of leadership around .for example a newspaper is informs people of what going on around the world and by doing so its moving everyone toward one direction , its leading people . it has control over people but just as much as the people allows this.. the problem is that people never question whatever the information is true or not and just trust newspaper will make sure the newspaper will do the right thing

  • @RevNowWhileWeCan

They're are many fallacies about gov't that people ask that should be addressed like, "who will build the roads?" and "how will we defend ourselves?". This is the jist of why people tolerate "being robbed".

If the human talking about the British constitutional monarchy system of government, Americans and other people living in republics might have thought the video doesn't apply to their system. In fact, the main motivation for making this sequel was to answer those commenters who thought (for some reason) that the first video only applied to democracies and not to republics.

lets imagine a world without the state:
    1. people want security so a demand for it is created.
    2. security companies come to supply that demand, competing to attract customers.
    3. some people don't want these services, so don't pay the companies, in return not getting private security (at best the indirect security from their neighbors)
    4. Are you telling me that the security firms will force him to pay, beat him and lock him up if he doesn't, just because he decided to protect himself? really?

Once again these videos are SPOT ON and accurate in most everything except ONE very important aspect. @ 2:06 - 2:49
@ 2:50 you finally mention a Republic and the process that SHOULD be in these United States.
While we use the majority rules (Democratic) way as a voting tool in electing our Congress and other smaller leaders, that "process" does NOT make us a Democratic Government. Our Constitution FOR the United States guarantees us a Republican form of Government in Article 4 Section 4. So if that is guaranteed in the Constitution, yet you say in the videos that we are Democratic government, then our form of Government is UNCONSTITUTIONAL.
The process in which we vote is still not a "true democracy" as we have seen in a few presidential elections where the POPULAR vote loses to the Electoral College process. So in reality, not even our vote for POTUS is Democratic in function but a way to inform the Electoral College what to do.
LOVED THE VIDEOS other than that.

What is the difference, fundamentally, between being ruled by a majority of voters and being ruled by a majority representatives (politicians)?

+JulianBaynes1 Thanks, yes, that is the impression I got from him, but I am open to hearing an opposing view from someone who thinks that what he has to say is actually of value.

Governments will continues to exist for ever in some form or another. Here's why:
    Step 1: People want security
Step 2: People get price sensitive and pool resources to make security cheaper.
Step 3: People create "rules" this group security must follow.
Step 4: The group agrees to pay dues for this security.
Step 5: Some people stop paying and become "free riders."
Step 6: Everyone get's made at the "free riders" for not paying.
    Step 7: Taxes
