I’ll never understand why Nintendo is now so averse to menu music. The Switch menu is silent, the eShop menu is silent, and now the menus of their two biggest Zelda games are silent. It makes no sense.
It's a thing that seems to plague a lot of the Switch. A severe lack of intros, silent title cards, etc. Pokémon Sword/Shield notably lacks an intro, BOTW and TOTKs title cards are extremely barebones, etc.
Its this minimalistic design culture that we have. Nothing is fun anymore. Everything made in the 80s and early 90s had personality. Now even video games are imitating corporate suits.
@@Degdreams real! it feels like a lot of that charm is gone, earlier games have that title theme/menu select that you just listen to for a minute before playing (and it’s successful! Just look at ocarina of time!)
This is great. Honestly, the TotK menu screen was already leagues better than BotW's just by itself, but I think everyone can agree it could've used some background music
I like how u incorporated the fairy fountain theme that is very traditional for most zelda home screens but is so subtle that it fits the theme of totk and the zonai chanting As a zelda nerd i appreciated the detail, great job!
I love this content music here and I’m not against if they add any, but whenever I finish the credits and I got sent back to the menu with no audio I almost cried
I have been struggling these last years with a triple licence, in two weeks it will be over. Exactly a year ago I was living my worst, most awful time in these licences. I had a very bad PC, which is now broken, but then I heard that the new Zelda was about to release, so I installed Breath of the Wild to see if it was true that it was one of the best games out there. Indeed. It is now my favourite game, and it helped me a lot during that shitty period of time. Playing it I was just calm, no one expected me to be something. And since a year my sole dream has been to finish the game. For a year the background noise of my late study nights has been BOTW ambiences. This is a glimmer of hope for me, cuz tomorrow my finals begin, and never mind the results: in two weeks I will start the game a new and this time I will finish it.
I think the menu music should change the more you progress in the game. At the start its just regular, silence and some weird noises to fuel the spooky and mysterious feeling the trailer gives, then the menu music gets more detailed and calming/fun with more features to add to the sense of "progression" in the game.
It would be really good to have a Menu Theme like this one im Tears of The Kingdom, fit's so well. I would even try to play that i'm my Piano, cause it looks like a reflexive music to listen for hours and sounds relaxing to play. They could have add it as a bonus for those who finished the "story mode", this silence in the Nintendo Switch menus looks like the silence after a big loss for me... And it makes sense, at least for me. We lost Iwata, Reggie is not there anymore, Charles is not Voice Acting as Mario, the Nintendo we knew is not the same. It's another life phase, and we need to be grateful for the good things we have and had. People always talk about the Wii channels and i really like the themes too! I will miss so much Charles doing Mario voice, i wish i could met those great people, specially Charles, Reggie and Shigeru Miyamoto, may Satoru Iwata rest in peace.
though I miss the menu sound, and this is very nice, I think silence in ToTk is very purposeful. the addition of sound when it happens in game, is thematic. Maybe the next mayor scale Zelda game will be more traditional, at least in the musical sense.
I like what you did with the menu music! But I do think you should've made it more creepy? Like how the original one had creepy singing, maybe add to that and make it sound even terrifiying/unsettling ^^
Its almost like the old Great Fairy Fountain theme if It was weeping as if It wants to sound magical But turns out mischievous and mysterious with a slight tone of sorrow
For some reason, I thought this was gonna be a joke video with a bunch of weird sounds and sound affects. I was pleasantly surprised when I realized it was actually legit! :D
@@adora_was_takenThat feels kind of like the point imo. Like uneasy whispers of an age forgotten being brought back to the present, revealing hidden horrors that leak into the normal (much like Gloom)
I honestly don't get why Nintendo chose to keep the menu silent again, really hope it won't happen for the next Zelda game. Nice arrangement by the way!
Classic example of Nintendo being Nintendo and not going with the obviously better choice. “There will be no mention of the Nintendo Switch successor during this presentation” when they know that’s all anyone really wants to see. 😳
Ive been trying to actually get Title Screen music working with a Mod. If I eventually find a way to do that Im gonna use this! Only with your permission of course. My feedback on the music is: the chanting in the backround doesnt really fit the music.. So I thought you could time the little samples of the Gloom/Evil chanting in a way so it coordenates better with the music.
Nah, even though it uses sounds from the main theme, it sounds very similar (in style) to any other souls main menu game. You did a great work tho, don't get me wrong; but I appreciate way more the original one
Reuploaded this one due to a small audio problem. Sounds much better now!
One issue still, it's too short.

Me neither. Zero sense.
Yea like imagine the wii with no menu music, that stuff is *iconic* and just adds so much charm
Because nowadays where everyone is a loudmouth yapper
Silence speaks volumes
and then there's mario odyssey

i totally agree. It just feels awkward in the silence. Just like somebody is like

More like botws menu screen is miles better - all that wasted potential in totks
@james441 Fym it's literally just a slideshow of BotW promo art

Yeah, the zonai chant felt too perfect to not include. Glad you enjoyed it!
Imo, the silence worked on BotW's Title/Menu Screen but with TotK's menu being more dynamic, the silence makes less sense
Fair argument, I definitely see that.
that's because BotW's menu screen was boring
wish this was real
I wish it were too.
And then when you select a save, the piano does a flourish
That would be godly right there
Age of Calamity did the title screen pretty well

Adding the great fairy fountain is genius! This sounds so real.

God this is so soothing. It still sounds haunted, but now it's lulling and beautiful too
It's like the Zelda team was stretched too thin and ended up ignoring certain key aspects that usually give a Zelda game its identity.
They definitely forgot this one!
we need to mod this into the game
I agree.
If this was how it did sound, tbh I’d just put the menu on for a special occasion happening at my house without even playing it
"Why do I hear chanting?"
This is fantastic and very loopable which is what you need for a title theme that you could leave running for ages lol
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is so beautiful! Take notes, Nintendo.
Right? Take some serious notes nintendo lol
@Noahnillion19 BAHAHAAA I DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE THAT🤣🤣
Beautiful. The Fairy Fountain theme sounds so haunting and melancholy in minor. It’s a great tie-back to the older Zelda games as well. Nice work!
I shall play this deliberately when I open the game and stare at the main menu. :)
its like the sounds are massaging my brain ahhh
I love that it sounds calming and scary at the same time. As if this is what death sounds like
This is soooo pretty. I wish it were longer
I actually really like this, well done
Need a mod that adds this in for REAL
Agreed!
perfectly compliments the return of Home theme in our zelda homes.
I love the feeling of ominous dread of Ganondorf in this menu
