    So my beard is kind of curly what product do you recommend I use I've tried oil but it just leaves my beard really shiny snd then it's hard to style. Wax works great but I feel like it's too harsh on the beard then I tried butter. I once let it grow about 6 inches but since I didn't know how to shape it I messed it up and end it shaving it all off

    Any tips for a somewhat patchy beard?

    • @SanFranPsycho650
      @SanFranPsycho650 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depending on where your patches are or weak spots, I'd suggest working around it. For instance, on my cheeks there's some lighter areas that I'll leave alone upon trimming and let it grow out. Each beard is different. However, if you trim the patchy area, you're only exposing it more. Also, look into beard growth serums and use it every day on the weaker spots. There's plenty of videos out there as well. Hope this helps a bit.

    My hairs like curls in how does yours grow straight?

    • @JCGrooming
      @JCGrooming  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hey Eddie! My hairs curl a lot too. I blow dry to keep them straighter and some men have found success with a heated straightening brush, but those aren’t always necessary. Check out my beard styling tutorial and you’ll see exactly how I achieve the straighter hairs!

    • @MrAriel4444
      @MrAriel4444 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JCGrooming I heard that brushing your beard once a while through the day, "trains" your beard to go curly to straight , is that true?

    • @JCGrooming
      @JCGrooming  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Pedro Chavarria hey Pedro. That’s true to an extent, it will mostly help with the direction of growth. You can even do it more than once a day (just don’t over do it). Brushing your beard with a boar bristle brush will help tame the hairs temporarily but also over time train the direction that they grow, the curls may slowly work themselves out over time but I haven’t ever seen any evidence that shows you can train them curly to straight with just a brush.
      There are treatments out there that relax hairs and do a semi permanent straightening but they’re not great for your hair. Could be worth looking into if you really want a straighter beard though!

    Hey man, I’ve been letting my beard grow out since 2018, I’ve shaved it and let it grow two times since but on my left side I still have growing issues where my right side is darker. Is there a specific supplement I can take or should I just get some beard pills from any drug store that has them? Any advice is appreciated man, thanks. New subscriber 🤙🏽

    • @JCGrooming
      @JCGrooming  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey man! So when you say it’s darker on one side, are you meaning the hair is growing in thicker and it’s more dense, or is it that the actual strands are darker?
      If it’s the amount of hair growing then the simplest answer is time will be the only thing to help cover it. Hair tends to grow at different rates in different areas so it might just be that one side grows slower or it could be that one side doesn’t have as many active follicles.
      Supplements will help with making sure that the hairs that are there are growing healthier and even thicker, but they won’t necessarily cause new growth where there isn’t some already. If you’re just trying it out I’d say drink tons of water and eat lots of protein, work out to get some testosterone boosts and if you really want to try out a supplement start with a drug store biotin supplement or one that says it’s meant for hair, skin and nails. That will have most of the same ingredients as the beard supplements you’ll find on the market.
      I hope this helps! Feel free to hit me with any other questions if I didn’t completely answer yours.

    • @JCGrooming
      @JCGrooming  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      George good advice! I actually have made a video where I talk about ways to cover up patches and I mention both permanent and temporary dyes/cover ups. The temporary one is a lot like mascara and honestly has worked wonders for people with blonde hairs where they want darker ones. I’ll plan on covering the beard rollers in the future.
      Whatever gets you the results you need without hurting your health is a great option!

      JC Grooming I just saw you replied to me sorry for the late response but I appreciate your help so much. I recently shaved my beard off maybe shaving a couple times this month and letting it grow for the rest of the year will help but I’m excited with this new information thanks a lot!

    • @JCGrooming

      George hey George, yes smoking does affect the color of hair anywhere on your body that the smoke is touching. You’ll notice it most on your mustache since the smoke can discolor the hair it’s closest to. I can’t say for certain but I would think it’s the ingredients in the cigarettes that are discoloring your beard and not the smoke itself. I wouldn’t think the herb would have the same effect, or at least not to the same degree, but I could be wrong. I’ll plan on doing further research and making a video in the next couple of weeks on that one

      How to add volume

    • @JCGrooming
      @JCGrooming  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are a few quick ways. One can be blow drying everything up and away from your face then combing it back down. Balm also helps a lot. Basically, its the same as adding volume to your hair. Blow away from the direction it will end up in, then use balm to keep it in place

    • @JCGrooming
      @JCGrooming  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Heather! Sorry you didn’t find the video useful. There are a lot of questions that men have surrounding their at home trims, so my goal is to answer all of those questions up front and help people move forward with confidence - that’s why we have a 3 minute intro to answer those questions.
      In the video I did demonstrate the decisions I make as I trim, and the order and technique for each section. With those things in mind all that’s left is to start clipping. I do demonstrate the actual process in this video, but the main purpose of the video is discuss what’s actually going on under the scissors.
      If you want to see a full video of the entire trimming process, check out the video I made where I used clippers to trim. The process is the same as the scissor trim, but uses electric clippers instead. If you watch that you’ll get a better idea of the demonstration of the actual process.
