Check Point Basics R80.40 - SmartConsole Part01

In this video we do check on Check Point smartconsole R80.40
The video will be uploaded in several parts to be able to show most of the console.
In this video we talk about the the general idea of smartconsole, demo mode and the gateway slide including showing how to send scripts to the gateways.
This is meant to be for people that is new to check point or worked with it several years ago.

Hello Magnus, could you enable subtitles on all videos in the Free Check Point series? I am Spanish and it is difficult for me to understand English and your videos are amazing!!

Thanks :) You Tube has autogenerated subtitels that you can enable yourself by clicking the "cogwheel" icon (same as the one for video quality) and then turn on subtitels.
Its way to much work to create own subtitles and the autogenerated once are normally good :)

i can't run the api server
mgmt_api_profile_settings.xml not found Please help!!!!!!
i tried to do api start and the mgmt_api_profile_settings.xml cannot be created .

Is this in a lab enviroment? What version do you use?
First of all you need to make sure to be within the approved clients list to use smartconsole.
If you recently upgraded to R80.x you also need to make sure to open the new fw ports if the traffic is passing a firewall.

Hi, Its somewhat tricky for me to set that up in a lab environment.
More or less because i dont know AD and such,
I was thinking to should you guys some stuff from the demo point, like integrations to azure etc.
I cant promise it but i will try to make something cool ;)
