Withy Good video as usual and Yes You should always go under your tractor and make sure that the bar is over your king pin, that is just common sense. This is a big problem in our industry now, " A lot of drivers are over confident and this lead to many unnecessary incidents". About a year ago another You-Tuber had a high hook and ended up messing up her tractor, very unfortunate and many drivers tailgate other trucks and cars, if the car/truck has to make a emergency stop the rear truck will be in their back seat. Drivers must be safe and get back to taking pride in their Driver as well as ride( Professional Drivers are held to a higher standard and those that messy up can be put in jail ). Just because some of You drivers are driving automatics, You are not in your car You are controlling 80,000lbs of death, if You fail to drive responsibly. Let's All arrive alive. If a driver can't be safe then leave our industry before You kill someone else or yourself.
Absolutely agree. That’s also why a lot of people loose respect for truck drivers because sometimes they act like idiots. But you be safe out there 🤌🏽⭐️
Withy It was funny the next day after i left You my comment, I was at work and as I checked my fifth wheel half of the jaws was not locked in. I don't like to lock the kingpin hard because it can be damaged so, that's another reason to check to make sure the jaws are in place. Stay safe too.
Yes it's good to check under the trailer but you can also do a tug which is push the tractor break in but leave the trailer brake out and just put it in driving hit the gas real quick a little bit and it'll pull tight that's another way of knowing too it's called a tug test I'm sure you know that already
just a heads up when you're in Memphis not West Memphis Memphis the loves and enforcement lot will not help you need to put the trailer on the fence or a wall cuz they'll just cut it off while you're sleeping
