His loss will for ever be a gaping hole in the fabric of Indian classical music..

His music , hard work and humility will be an insurmountable goal post to achieve.. period!

Correct. He went way beyond tabla, and embodied the spirit of music itself. His personalty was matchless...it still feels so difficult to speak of Ustad Zakir Hussain in the past tense. So blessed to have attended his concert 5 years ago. My one and only ever, it was a joy watching him in person.
