So sad too see them disappear off of our streets they are definitely amazing buses I would love too see anything made now last as long as they have I really hope some get the chance to be preserved
To good to Scrap. Before I ever got my driving licence, I would always have a trip over the Pennies to Huddersfield from Oldham just to have a couple of rides on these, especially when they did the X6, then jump on the train to Sheffield, to sample there Alex400 on the Castleton run. Anyway, Great video
We still have these in Ipswich, Suffolk. AU53's & AU05's with roaring cooling fans! Due to the height of the depot, these are the only deckers we can have I believe. :)
Aye I remember visiting Manchester in 2017 and back then there were a fair variety of ALX400s still about. All have been cascaded elsewhere and a few are still in use
Absolute shame, buses without Volvo B7TLs aren't the same, when Leicester had some ALX400s that left between 2014/15 to be replaced for the Streetdecks, I felt my childhood disappear at least 32059 (W219 XBD) has recently been preserved
Aye they are from the ever reducing ALXs at Doncaster. I find it funny how Potteries prefer the older B7TL traction since they returned the B9s 37120/1/2 back to Sheffield
Now I'd normally be certain they'd be going for to PVS for scrap however EnsignBus have snapped the odd examples from West Yorkshire last year for future sale. More than likely if theres no need for them elsewhere in FirstGroup then it'll more likely be scrap
Thats correct, 32269 is now in Cornwall, 32265 now prepped for scrap and 30577 is off to Pres. They have about 4 left at Donny that I hope to visit if they are still in traffic post-lockdown
My favourite buses. Nothing will ever be as characterful as these beasts
They are certainly superb machines, will be shame when they go but theres a fair few going into preservation
The ALX400 buses have done all they can!!
Another great video Alex
Oh aye its sad but the end had to come at some point. Thank you mate, I'm glad you enjoyed watching!

Aye it is a shame, some will be preserved though thank goodness!
@@AndMoreCentral thank goodness I love them maybe they could do some use as school contracts or spare buses for small or companies starting up

great video Alex i will miss the ALX400s
Thank you mate and yes I agree they will be missed
How long have the alx400s in Huddersfield stayed there for?

Ah yes you have some newer ones that do look superb in the new livery. Definitely need to make a visit there soon.
drove 2 w reg couple of x reg and 2 51 plate while at first manchester lovley drive

Sad times, these will be missed much. Dublins final B7TLs are all being withdrawn over the next few days sadly
Fully agree there, thats sad to hear although the the B7TLs in Dublin have been going for ages at this point.
We've Got A few B7' ALX400's now with First cymru, from Halifax And Yorkshire, which are Either X Or W reg , still going strong, in public service
You sure do! You got the main batch of them from Halifax, glad to hear they are still going too
sad to see them go
Aye well they are getting rather old now, at least theres a number now in preservation
Still here.
Noice vid as always Alex :) but Sad to see the alx400s go :'(
Thank you mate and yes I agree it is sad they are on their way out

Aye I saw that example is now preserved locally, will be nice for me to see it on the preservation scene at some point
Sad to see them go , also how come Halifax has enviro400s but Huddersfield doesn't
31137 was out all day on 7th Jan 2022
Used to be some in Sheffield and plaxtons but these have been replaced by streetdecks
Yep the new HEV Streetdecks did help in ushering them out of the fleet
@@AndMoreCentral And the CAZ will further help to renew the fleet
First potteries have got 3 of the beasts 31782 31785 and 32270
Aye they are from the ever reducing ALXs at Doncaster. I find it funny how Potteries prefer the older B7TL traction since they returned the B9s 37120/1/2 back to Sheffield
Do you know when the huddersfield ones will be retiring
The date has been pushed back now though I imagine it'll be when the next cascades to Huddersfield take place
Are they being sold/ given to another company or are they being scrapped?

It would be such a shame if they’re scrapped... I love alx400’s 😔
Problem they will face on resale is London stock as they are now getting B9TLs on the market so theres not much interest in these anymore
Yeah you’re right
i did see an alx 400 in bermondsey which was operated by mayday travel not too long ago so i would say that they are being sold
Good video
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
*laughing in Preston*
Oh aye you have a fair few Trident variants left, probably gonna last a while too with Rotala wanting to replace other stuff first
@@AndMoreCentral 4 in public use
1 used for school runs
How long has the alx400 been out?
I believe the first production ALX400s were produced in the late part of 1998 so a good couple decades now
Also 2 ALX 400 in South Yorkshire is Leaving and Goodbye ALX 400
Thats correct, 32269 is now in Cornwall, 32265 now prepped for scrap and 30577 is off to Pres. They have about 4 left at Donny that I hope to visit if they are still in traffic post-lockdown
There going due to emissions and age being replaced by the newer buses the streetdecks Streetlites gemini 2s ect
Update: Now all withdrawn
Sad times
