My D7 showed signs of the clutch rubbing against the primary case when I stripped it. Too much clutch endfloat caused by a worn thrust washer and bush. Best wishes, Dean.
Isn't she sweet though, I would say check primary and drive chain, drive chain could be clattering on something, check the chain guard isnt too close to it
Not considered that, looks like I might be stripping down the engine, will have to video it. I am working on my Honda at the moment so probably going to be later in the year when the bike lift is free.

Yes it was the primary. I have recently rebuilt the complete engine, see my BSA Bantam D3 Engine Rebuild series of videos.
