Please note this is my first play with this set and this villain. Rules explanations/clarifications/mistakes: 1. The Milano will rotate throughout the game with the next "First Player" and does not stay with the initial First Player. I will play this way for the first 4 scenarios. Not really that big of a difference in game play.
I really enjoyed this scenario, the focus on thwarting to win over killing the villian was a welcome change of pace. The way things really pick up the pace i the 3rd phase makes it feel like your "escaping" thematically which I loved
Thanks for the playthrough. I think with this scenario you need to be able to clear the threat in that final Great Escape scheme in one, maybe two rounds, because the threat just piles on and on after that. Having the Collector ready to be defeated just as you flip that final scheme, to knock off more threat, is a great strategy. Looking forward to Nebula.
I think with each stage, you should probably not complete unless you can take the next stage down some, or you could find yourself in trouble ... especially the last stage! Good luck and thanks for watching! :)
Really enjoy your videos, thank you. Looking forward to the next two. I have found Nebula to be hard, but fun-hard. As in, she put up a huge fight but it felt like a fair fight.
The amount of thwart you had on that final round made me cackle with glee! I think others have mentioned this but am never take the encounter card to remove threat. I tried it my first couple of times to try to just blaze through but the game got out of hand very quickly.
@Isabelle Clara Therrien-Gros-Louis I've played the 5 scenarios now ... and no comment on the last play. Lets just say I'm not a fan of playing a mix of Heroic 2 and 3 while in standard mode. lol Good luck, all these villains are quite a step up in difficultly in my opinion and requires some non-traditional play at times.
@@claraginevra6527 I don't mean to brag ... but I did slightly better. Don't get me wrong, I knew it was over turn 1 (and I think I may have mentioned it in the playthrough), but I made myself suffer a couple more turns. lol
@@DaletheCasualGamer I lost to ronan 3 times in a row and decided to abandon the campaign. Thoroughly enjoyed the rest of it - ronan - nah not for me (he might be more fun as a regular scenario)
@@samirnathwani4206 I know there were plenty of players asking for the game to be harder, and they got their request. Is that for everyone, probably not. I'd assume with the amount of increase in difficulty that newer hero packs will need to scale up also. Only time will tell. I hope there is a card that kills environments. ;)
Wow!!! That was a complete surprise at how that ended. I can not wait to get my copy and play through it.....once I have finished Rise Of The Red Skull
@JJE McManus Hope you do well!! I was just exhausted with a headache for about 48 hours after my second shot. Wasn't terrible, just slept for 2 days. Time to catch up on TH-cam and any other movies.
@@DaletheCasualGamer more fool me for eating most of a Disney sub over the weekend. There’s always Mando. Still I suspect I’ll be in the studio tonight. Setup for the collector 2 reminded me why KeyForge was so popular. Well played game, btw. With all that unspent thwart at the end you should have tried to grab some treasures
@Michael Hajduk In this set-up I have 5 UberTrayz (they come in packs of 4) and 15 UberStax pieces (they come in bags of 6). I do have a video on how I put this together (minus a 5th tray and one section of stax) at the 4:50 mark in the following video: th-cam.com/video/dyC9jiuOrwc/w-d-xo.html Hope that helps, and happy gaming! :)
Great video, as always. I have one comment and one question. Comment: when you counted how much thwart you had left I think you counted 10 which would have been enough to remove the initial side scheme an get some extra victory points :P. Then a question, in the turn Rocket ended up with 2 Ghosts, the first one came in as a boost on the villain attack and you triggered the "when reveal effect" and got yourself confused, but the boost says "put into play" I thought you are not supposed to trigger when reveal effects on those cases, am I wrong? Either way no biggie you got another Ghost anyways hahaha, though match, but you beat him hard. Keep crushing them.
@Fernando Vila I thought of the threat after I was putting things away. lol Those Badoon Grunts are nasty, the boost "puts them into play", but their ability is a "Forced Response" triggered after they engage and not a "When Revealed" effect, so it still triggers. Nasty!! Thanks! :)
I never take the extra encounter card. For the reason that the game can get out of my control. Just take your time. When the ghost minion comes out as a boost he is not revealed. So you wouldn’t be confused. If he came out as an encounter card he would be revealed so then you would be confused.
@Thomas Whaley I live on the edge with encounters. ;) Yep, I was too excited to be confused. New card excitement, forgot the basics. :) Thanks for watching! How are you enjoying the new stuff?
@@DaletheCasualGamer I’m enjoying it all even if I still can’t beat Ronan. Groot is a god in Protection. I almost had a perfect game and beat Ronan but then the side-scheme came out and gave it back to him. Ronan makes Ultron look easy. I am really loving the new cards and I think it is slowly elevating my play-style.
You seem to be casually strolling through this set, have been struggling myself. Have found the encounter decks to be quite erratic after repeated plays. The side schemes are harmless when drawn as a boost but if two are revealed early can mess up a game. And you can be suddenly swarmed with enemies due to the minions that get put into play as a boost. For example, getting a ghost boost then revealing a shark is not fun.
@forbode This set has bumped the difficulty up, and agreed, getting hit with big minions early or a cluster of side schemes can have a huge impact on the game ... and the casual strolling may be coming to an end very soon. ;) Good luck, and happy gaming! :)

My copy of GMW arrived this morning and I finished putting all of the cards in sleeves this afternoon. Bring on the weekend. Can't wait to try this.

Hi Dale,
I was looking into the Uberstax and Ubertrays. How many pieces do you have of each for the setup in this video?

The team over at UberStax shared a "Free Shipping" coupon code with me. Happy Shopping!

I “plan” on it, but finding the time for all the games is the issue. I even painted some of the miniatures! :)
