Gorillas are amazing. The most incredible animal interaction I ever had was with a bachelor gorilla at the Columbia SC zoo. He indicated he liked my hat with some rudimentary sign language, then leaned in and posed for a picture with my wife through the glass. We really need to respect their territory and natural habitats.
Indeed. They really are amazing animals. If only the world could open its eyes and see just how special Apes are…they are practically FAMILY, people! They deserve respect!
What a beautiful place to see. Loved the penguins. They are fascinated with bubbles because it keeps them from getting bored and keeps their senses sharp. Looking forward to your next adventure tomorrow.
12:55 Have you ever seen “Zooboomafoo?” I believe that is the same species of lemur as depicted in the show. 24:19 Huh, you can see a copy of ‘Villainous’ in there! That game can be pretty fun, although figuring out the unique rules for each character can be tricky. I kinda wish they had ‘Betrayal at House on the Hill’ on display. Now that is a groundbreaking game!
Wow , its been 40 years since Ive been to the zoo, it has changed a lot I must say, (of course it would in that amought of time right) Thanks for the zoo tour, Oh and in memory of PHIL .. if you know.. you know There used to be chimp shows , and dolphin shows .. it was so much fun!
Hi Jacob. Erick Erickson here . I must tell you that this latest road trip stunt is the greatest. It gets us the audience to participate in real time. GENIUS !! You have been at the top for some time. with your adventure, Humor and work ethic no one can touch you. you are the best . thanks Erick
When you get to Memphis be sure to check on your fish (and mine! It’s right across from yours) You could go to Mud Island, there’s a museum there. Eat a great burger at Huey’s or BBQ at Central (or the Rendezvous, but Central is better) Also Gus’s fried chicken! Others have mentioned the Fire and Cotton museum, I’ve never been to them so it would be cool to see in a video.
That zoo is beautiful - even in winter! Thanks for showing the great architectural detail in those fabulous old buildings housing the animals!! Enjoyed!
Zoology major here :) the bubbles are enrichment for the penguins! Keepers are meant to provide some type of enrichment daily or multiple times a day. Looks like the keepers chose bubbles to see if they would react positively.
The bubbles for the penguins, like the hanging, covered bucket for the monkeys, are for enrichment for the animals - something interesting for them to see, chase, figure out.
Fun Fact : While the first arcade, mass-produced video game was indeed Space War (not Pong), the very first video game ever, was done at MIT & called "Tennis for Two". This was, essentially a proto-Pong, played only by students. One of those students was Nolan Buschnell, who later went on to create Pong & became founder of Atari. Also, you can see Space War & its arcade cabinet in the sci-fi movie Soylent Green, w/Charlton Heston - which, coinvidentally, takes place in the dystopic year 2022. 😃
I love both those places. The zoo really must be experienced in warmer weather. You missed all the cool space stuff at Science Center. Crown Candy Kitchen is a must; actually didn’t look too busy, normally line goes around the block.
Fun facts about hissing cockroaches they typically are a brownish tone, with ridges on their backs and are bigger than the typical house roach and are used in movies when a roach is need for a scene as they are cleaner than house roaches and are owned as pets by many people.
That was soo good Jacob, enjoyed seeing everything, didn’t enjoy the kitchen part, not a lover of bugs and flys 😳, nothing wrong with being part of the clean plate brigade 🤣, Thankyou x
My only more favorite zoo than St. Louis is the Cincinnati Zoo! I have family in Cincinnati (my aunt passed from cancer in 2020 and, no, we were not allowed to have a funeral) and I went to visit for my birthday several years back. It was AMAZING! I'm in a wheelchair and it was perfectly fine getting around!
We always visit the zoo in the fall! The weather is still nice, but it's so much less hot and humid, so it's more of a pleasant experience. There's also less people, and the animals are much more active since it's not nearly as hot. Sometimes it feels like we get the whole zoo to ourselves! Definitely recommend a fall visit over a summer one any day.
Jacob, since you like off-season zoos, check out the Cincinnati Zoo sometime in December, they put on a Christmas celebration with lots of lights and displays. Many of the animals can still be seen in and outdoors, too. There's a classic train that goes around the zoo, plenty of hot cocoa and roasted nuts, and it is all very festive and perfect for the season, especially after a fresh snow!
I love ❤️ a zoo that is a donation or free but they have area for more donations Cape Mae Zoo is like this! Wonderful! You know it’s good when the police go there!
I was a baby at the 1964 World's Fair in Queens, NY. I have the Mold-A-Rama T-Rex, in that upright position, from Sinclair. It's a treasured possession of mine...
Crown Candy Kitchen is an American treasure, excellent choice for food. BLT has miracle whip and 1 lb of bacon. They dyed all their shakes blue when the Blues were in the Stanley Cup a couple years ago.
I had to jump ahead during all the roaches and spider parts.Funny thing is my Grandfather had an exterminating business and my father took it over and the plan was for me to take it over. There was no way I was doing that because I can tell you stories my dad told me that will keep you up at night.Well I have owned my woodshop company for 28 years and my dad sold the exterminating company when he retired. Was not for me!!
I grew up going to both places. Will forever love both!! And Crown Candy has a special chocolate figure at Easter! There's so much in the summer too including the Muny!
As "The Duke of Artz" I really love The St Louis Zoo it is one of the triple great Great GREAT zoos and I really enjoy the Science Center because it awesome . Since I live in Missouri I have been there many times, every time my family and I visit by St Louis :)
I haven’t been to either of those in SO long. We would kill afternoons both places in college. “Art Hill” by the Art Museum in Forest Park was great for sledding too. ❤️❤️
growing up in st. louis I went to the zoo and the science center countless times. All the museums in Forest Park were or are free. So as a poor high school student it was a great place to go with my girlfriends for a fun afternoon. This video brings back countless memories. The train at the zoo is my all time favorite. So much fun. Hope you went to Imos pizza across the highway then to Ted Drewes. Thanks for the video!
Jacob you should go to Clear Lake Iowa and do a tour of the Surf Ballroom where Buddy Holly, the Big Bopper and Richie Valens played their last show of Winter Dance Party since Feb 3rd is right around the corner.
I live in the STL suburbs, so I've been to this zoo tons of times as a kid, and it's only gotten better with age! I was there the day after Christmas, and a lot of the exhibits you say were closed were still open, like the rhinos, elephants, sea lions and bears. Not sure why they were closed for you. Either way, awesome video!
I'm pretty sure the dinosaurs in the '64 New York World's Fair were done by Walt Disney's WED Enterprises (precursor to Disney's Imagineers) for the Ford Pavillion attraction called "Ford's Magic Skyway", where you rode in a Ford car using a beta-version of the omnimover system. So those outdoor dinosaurs were recreated using molds for the audioanimatronics used for that ride at the '64 World's Fair.
If the vote goes to Memphis, you should check out the Peabody Hotel duck walk. I'm fairly sure it's one of a kind. I agree with going to the Zoo in winter. At the Brookfield zoo in winter, you used to be able to walk right through the bars at the elephant house to look at them in the window. Also Brookfield zoo has, in my humble opinion, the best hot dog in Chicago.
Great video, Jacob! You would love the Toledo Zoo! They have a newly renovated museum and their animals are on display year round. Keep up the sensational work!
Definitely check out the Omaha zoo if you make it that way. It is HUGE and has some of the best indoor exhibits around - desert, jungle, aquarium, etc. Happy travels!
Oh yeah for anyone here that's familiar with 1999 educational children's tv series called Zoboomafoo the Sifaka Lemur that Jacob seen is the same kind of lemur that was on that series btw i occasionally watched zoboomafoo as a kid & i loved it
I really REALLY could have gone without seeing the roaches 😂 You should check out Butterfly Wonderland in Scottsdale AZ 🦋 It's right next to the aquarium you visited.
If you are ever in the Sauk County Wisconsin area I HIGHLY recommend this attraction 10 minutes from Devils lake. It’s Dr. Evermor’s Sculptor park. Absolute diamond in the rough. Enormous metal work, sculpture and creations and it completely free
St Louis is both of our favorite zoo. And you HAVE to love when a video costs absolutely nothing to film. Man... LOVE the free St Louis museums!!
STL native here. City Museum is definitely worth going to

He indicated he liked my hat with some rudimentary sign language, then leaned in and posed for a picture with my wife through the glass. We really need to respect their territory and natural habitats.
Totally agree with this comment. I just went about 2 weeks ago to the zoo in Columbia SC and had a wonderful experience at the Gorilla enclosure..
Indeed. They really are amazing animals. If only the world could open its eyes and see just how special Apes are…they are practically FAMILY, people! They deserve respect!
That zoo is absolutely worth visiting in summer --- the zoo train is excellent, and obviously only runs in warm weather.
What a beautiful place to see. Loved the penguins. They are fascinated with bubbles because it keeps them from getting bored and keeps their senses sharp. Looking forward to your next adventure tomorrow.
That is really interesting. I, too, wondered what they were about.
As a child my grandparents used to take me to that zoo. That was over 60 yrs ago.
Thanks so much Jacob for bringing me some happy memories today.
I think it is the same species of lemur as Zooboomafoo. I was going to same thing. Good old days!
Beautiful indoor zoo
When Jacob said, "I don't know; I don't see a Tiger Centipede anywhere in there," I imagined 10 or 15 people casually strolling away at 90 MPH. 😆
Being and info freak, I really appreciate when you visit places like this!
Wow , its been 40 years since Ive been to the zoo, it has changed a lot I must say, (of course it would in that amought of time right) Thanks for the zoo tour, Oh and in memory of PHIL .. if you know.. you know

Its a cold rainy day on Long Island. I’m sure this is the weather you were filming in. This is a warm ray of sunshine. Loving this trip!
If you ever come out to Pennsylvania, there is a museum in Orrtanna (just west of Gettysburg) that is all elephant themed stuff
When you get to Memphis be sure to check on your fish (and mine! It’s right across from yours) You could go to Mud Island, there’s a museum there. Don’t forget the thrown rolls Lambert’s in Sikeston!
Should come back to St Louis Zoo during the summer and spring months The River's Edge is only open during the spring and summer months
Same thing with the bears. They hibernate so they aren't on display in the winter
I heard about that too
One of the nice thing about living in St Louis is that there are so many thing to do that is free or very low cost, especially in the summer.
Ok you playing Super Duper Mario was your best video ever!!
The bubbles are a form of Zoo enrichment. Penguins enjoy new things that keep their mind and body busy.
Zoology major here :) the bubbles are enrichment for the penguins! Keepers are meant to provide some type of enrichment daily or multiple times a day. Looks like the keepers chose bubbles to see if they would react positively.
Very cool
The next Carpetbagger pin needs to be a hotdog

Jacob this was really awesome. Thank you.
Stay safe. Stay blessed..
I got my card today.. Thank you.
Theres nothing sadder than a 2 person giant nintendo controller being operated by one person.
Sad, yet hilarious!
That was soo good Jacob, enjoyed seeing everything, didn’t enjoy the kitchen part, not a lover of bugs and flys 😳, nothing wrong with being part of the clean plate brigade 🤣, Thankyou x

That plce is cool. The rollercoaster exhinlbit was fun.
I grew up in the STL area and that dino animatronic in the Science Center TRAUMATIZED me as a kid!
It was great to be back in St Louis. Never been to the Zoo but I have been to the Museum. Looking forward to seeing more. Thanks.
The gateway arch has a time capsule built into the sculpture great view on top can see the ballpark
Awesome Work Bro as Always!!!! 👍👍👍👍😀😀 In Finland is the Temperature - 4 Greetings from Helsinki, Finland 🇫🇮🇺🇸🇫🇮🇺🇸🇫🇮🇺🇸
Hopefully you can get back to that zoo in the warmer months. Thanks for the cold adventures!
I really enjoyed your trip to the zoo. That zoo is my favorite 🤩 and it free 👍 I go all the time. I’ve made several videos there 😃
Awesome video Jacob thank you for being out there and bringing joy to the world
Thank you! I enjoy seeing places I've never been. I appreciate you!😊
Loving the red sneakers, awesome vid 👌🏻
I think they are Crocs. My favourite.

Hope you had a great time inSt.Lou. You have got to check out the city museum. Thanks for all the hard work.
I love your commitment to all things interactive. The huge game controller did propose a a challenge. I am off to vote for tomorrow's adventure.
I hope you enjoyed your time in st Louis. I hope, if you come through again, you might let me show you some more of my home town.
I love ❤️ a zoo that is a donation or free but they have area for more donations Cape Mae Zoo is like this! Wonderful! You know it’s good when the police go there!

Cool video, Jake. Have a great day!
We like zoo vlogs! I was impressed by Jacob playing with the giant Nintendo controller.
It was difficult

Always enjoyed going there and to the museums. Haven't been in close to 20 years
My home state of Missouri. The SHOW ME STATE .♥️♥️♥️
I'm so happy that you went to the zoo in St Louis you should go to the zoo in San Antonio again they remodeled
I grew up going to both places. Will forever love both!! And Crown Candy has a special chocolate figure at Easter! There's so much in the summer too including the Muny!

You can't beat Great free things to do.
Loved the zoo and it's great how it's free entry. Can't wait for your next trip.
I haven’t been to either of those in SO long. We would kill afternoons both places in college. “Art Hill” by the Art Museum in Forest Park was great for sledding too. ❤️❤️
Great on the two free museums. Very educational and enjoyable.

I’m from STL, several amazing and free attractions in the city. Great video.
Temp at the zoo , not bad at all !
Best time to go ! Glad it's open ! Nothing but fun at the zoo !
Love it when you do things around my home town...
Knew this one would be good, you're so cute talking to animals!
I used to stack the deck in candy land when I was a kid and would play with my neighbors who were younger than me

I second the Peabody ducks! They are something to see. And it's so nice to hang out there, grabs drink, listen to the piano.
Go to a blues games! There’s on today!
Watching you play that game was the funny part love your show today keep up the good work God bless stay safe.
That T-Rex always scared me as a little kid.
Thanks for sharing Jacob great video
Love the road trip idea man! Happy New Year!
the best blt i ever saw...thanks jacob.
Such a nice place and i love butterflyes, fishes and so on. Hahahaha playing with large game controller 23:30
Great video, Jacob! You would love the Toledo Zoo! They have a newly renovated museum and their animals are on display year round. Keep up the sensational work!
Great video! Thanks for brightening my Sunday!
Definitely check out the Omaha zoo if you make it that way. It is HUGE and has some of the best indoor exhibits around - desert, jungle, aquarium, etc.
Happy travels!
You’re the best Jacob, so entertaining & enjoyable to be with 😊
Love the St L Zoo. Was hoping to see you climb thru the tunnels at the City Museum.
Actual location of Bonnie and Clyde ambush site is a few miles down the road too! They have museum there also
Oh yeah for anyone here that's familiar with 1999 educational children's tv series called Zoboomafoo the Sifaka Lemur that Jacob seen is the same kind of lemur that was on that series btw i occasionally watched zoboomafoo as a kid & i loved it
Love a good zoo. Especially a free one.
I can’t believe those are free! That’s awesome
You should go to Newport Oregon because there is a Ripley museum you should visit and a great aquarium
Next time you come to visit you have to check out the City Museum and the Aquarium!!
Keep up the great work, Jacob! And be safe out there.
Yoo, I work it the science center! It's great to see it getting attention!
I really REALLY could have gone without seeing the roaches 😂 You should check out Butterfly Wonderland in Scottsdale AZ 🦋 It's right next to the aquarium you visited.

Are you still in the St. Lou area? have a great time - made it to the end and saw you got a great lunch !
I loved the trip to the zoo!! Carpetbagger makes everything so fun .🤩🤩
Ew the kitchen exhibit! A place of nightmares. I don't recall that when I visited!
