Donghyun is a former Republic of Korean Navy SEAL and served within the Special Missions Battalion. CoD: Modern Warfare was heavily marketed as "highly realistic" - having had two former US Navy SEALs as their technical consultants.

My god this is the man. I've trained with this guy and he is an absolute specimen with body weight exercises. In 2008 we were doing an Asia deployment and we went to train with our counterparts in Korea. We met up and we literally trained CQB, Kill House, LRP and Protective Scenarios and out of all the special operations troops from different countries I've worked with ROK has some of the greatest and underappreciated operators.
Have you ever trained with brazilian troops ? If so, what did you think ? I know some troops from all over the world comes to the amazon to train with the CIGS (a branch of the brazilian army especialized in jungle fighting)
@@buxadonoff yea actually quite a bit in the early 2000s I was working with some Army guys and we were doing FID with the Brazilian Army. They are pretty decently trained, well equipped and tactically sound. I think I would put Brazil's military in the Top 10 out of different countries in the world.

This gives a lot of real insight and tons of useful information. It is one of the best gameplays i have ever seen. And finally someone appreciates the details of the game world.
Before starting the video I just have to say as a former service member I have the utmost respect and admiration for the South Korean military. They were a key ally in Vietnam able to fight the VC more effectively the our own soldiers. My uncle Brad was a green beret in Vietnam he served 5 tours. In his last two he was attached to a South Korean ROK unit. He said they could go into a village where the Americans wouldn't be able to distinguish friend from foe. However the ROK troops could easily identify who was VC. They also saved my uncle's ODA's ass on more than one occasion. Thank you for your service and our countries strong union.
I wouldn't have used Vietnam as an example, the US and ROK both committed war crimes. Especially the white tigers, they were ruthless.

They were also controversial, some ROK soldiers killed Vietnamese civilians and committed other war crimes.
@@atheistjohn9674 as a Vietnamese in our opinion the ROK were generally considered as a lot more nasty in the war crime department compared to any branch of the US military or any other US-allied forces in that matter while they were here.
Granted, I understood and even sympathized with their mentality especially considering their war in their own homeland, I will never justify any war crimes just because of that. Not to mention the unapologetic attitude their vets have after the war all the way until now.
While we have many US vets understood what has been done here, even returned to the old battlefield and reminiscing old times with our own vets, I couldn't say so for the South Koreans. Some of them have returned to Vietnam and paid their respect and these few have helped improved a lot of the bad rep the South Koreans had over here. It's just sad that their aren't the majority.
This is why out of all foreign forces intervening in Vietnam at that time, the Australians were most highly regarded, even by our own command structures. Their fight like hell, didn't rely too much on overwhelming fire support like the Americans, actually worked to improve relations with the locals and finally, I can barely look for any war crimes accusation against them here.
Alas, everything is in the past now. Vietnam is a much different country from that time and we moved on from a lot of the hardline-cold war attitude. Me as a regular Vietnamese just glad that no matter if we're Americans, Koreans, Vietnamese or Australians, we can just get along peacefully now.
I love how he just follows protocol and doesn't question anything, just does what he is supposed to do. When one of his teammates died and he said "we have to keep moving", it really makes you realize how much mental fortitude is needed to get through a situation like this.

Honestly, it’s depending the person. I have a friend in the Marines who went when he turned 18. Went for 4 years and came back, was so fucked up about what he saw that he couldn’t live a normal life anymore. Couldn’t drive a car anymore, didn’t want to buy a house, didn’t even want to leave his parents’ home. He went back for 4 more years. He sends pics from time to time but it’s terrifying.

Yeah, that's the thing about all these sort of situations and the friction between military/law enforcement and civilian world - they HAVE to make a decision in seconds and they MUST stick to that decision because there is no room for doubt. Most of the time that works out but with very complex operations or "unexpected" situations it's very likely innocent people will die. To add insult to injury most people will judge these guys for "mistakes made" and in return they resent most civilians because "They don't even know what it's like". Their trauma and resentment runs extremely deep.

Does he shoot the head twice because the first confirm shot only went through the LHS of the head? I’m pretty confident that a brain can survive (not well or well-functioning) with one healthy hemisphere and one damaged one. But then again he shot to kill the guy initially anyway, so unless he missed something fatal then I suppose it wouldn’t matter anyway.
This is fkin amazing, you can tell he was a Navy Seal. Not only does he know the tactics but he has had plenty of practice because he is so meticulous and rarely misses something that could kill him in a real life scenario. He is literally like a robot as he processes through the checklist of things he needs to watch out for and tactics can extract from his library. This was a brilliant playthrough with lots of good commentary and showing how the game is also being quite realistic.

Yea like how he was able to recognize the lady in that one room towards the end with no weapon, moved his weapon to check into the room, moved back to her, saw she was reaching for something, He had his gun on her immediately, looked down, saw baby, moved on. Crazy trigger discipline. Also with that the last lady was acting odd. He was doing that while playing the game and multitasking. You can see how much they drill threat assessment.

That is why majority of the times, you carrying a weapon and making the wrong move will get you killed, even as a "good guy with a gun". Think of it like this... 5 people walking single file up a staircase... 1 enemy pops out at top of stairs... How many of the 5 on the stairs will be able to shoot at the 1 at the top of the stairs?
Answer is 1... only 1 of the 5 can shoot at the guy at the top of the stairs because they are all in single file and cant shoot in front of them because a teammate is there. Yet the guy at the top of the stairs can shoot at ALL 5 of the guys on the stairs.
His choice of positioning was better than what the game wanted him to do.

I love how despite he's being half funny half serious, he always stress many times that you need to have a buddy behind you when opening the door to watch your back when you are busy dealing with your front. Small (but not small in real life) detail that IW could design the AI to make an already great and immersive mission even better!
Also when he mentioned us to check behind the curtains and the TV to really make sure it is all clear, I realized that I need to replay this mission again, the right way!

@Yael well thats the "VIDEO" you watched, they are not allowed to shoot unless they see it clearly. You are only clear to engage when its confirmed that the other guy on the other wall is enemy. Thats why there are tactics on how to clear a open/close door

Yael nah, it’s pretty clear he was explaining the thing about letting your teammates know you’re exiting a room. He did that then went back into the room to clear the second door. Also, he wouldn’t be firing blindly into the room without knowing what’s on the other side. This guy is playing this game realistically.

1. Never stand in front of the door, considering you'd probably get shot.
2. Check everywhere when clearing a room. Behind cabinets, Curtains, TV's, under the bed, etc.
3. Always tell your squad you're opening a door; Entering a room.
4. Double check your shots; Shooting the enemy again in the head.
5. If you are the medic, you'd have to take the injured to a clear room to treat them. Considering it'll be dangerous to not be in a clear room.
6. You'd have to have somebody accompany you, or you accompany someone when entering an unknown room.
7. When the door ends at the corner of the room, be sure to turn right considering the probabilities there is a wall on the left.
8. Being a point man can bring stress upon you, either mentally or physically. So normally you'd have to switch out with somebody.
_And when being the point man, you'd have to watch over doors and areas that are unknown._
9. If a civilian doesn't have any weapons and are not a threat. The next move would be cuffing them.
10. Your squad should have a IR patch on to identify between enemy and friendly. Which you can tell when you have nods on, so you wouldn't mistakenly shoot your teammate.
