@Gonzalo Torres @NintendoComplete That gun weapon (that Johnny Cage has) is only available in his third/ alternate costume. It's the only other ranged projectile weapon in the game (by which it shoots (to do damage to opponents from far away) as opposed to blunt weapons (like Noob's Scythe, for example) which do damage to opponents at close range). I probably did not explain that too clearly, so let me recap...…there's Fujin's normal weapon (which is a projectile weapon) and then there's Johnny Cage's alternate weapon (which is also a projectile weapon). I suppose the skulls and rocks (and the boomerang) might count as projectile weapons under normal circumstances since you can throw them (unless you use the 0 - 0 - 2 - 0 - 0 - 2 code and be Tanya or Shinnok and grab the boomerang and throw it and then grab the rock before the boomerang comes back, making the rock/skull weapons BLUNT weapons with the 0 - 0 - 2 - 0 - 0 - 2 code on). The rest of the weapons are blunt weapons (meaning you use them as melee weapons). The rocks and skulls CAN become blunt weapons with the 0 - 0 - 2 - 0 - 0 - 2 code on and having Tanya and/or Shinnok as Player 1 or Player 2 and drawing the boomerang weapon and throwing the boomerang and grabbing the skull or rock before the boomerang comes back, making the skull or rock stuck to your hand, thereby making the rock or skull a blunt weapon that way.
Just in case anyone does not know, the 0 - 0 - 2 - 0 - 0 - 2 code makes it so that you do not lose your weapon (well, normally, that is). If you have the boomerang in your hand (with the 0 - 0 - 2 - 0 - 0 - 2 code on) and throw the boomerang and then grab the skull or rock weapon before the boomerang comes back, you will find that the rock or skull weapon is stuck to your hand! That means that you can bash your opponents in the face/body with skulls and rocks.
Every selectable character in the game has a weapon. This version of Kage is only by way of code and yes, he is the only one I believe with alternate costume with it's own weapon.
@@Tornado1994 It's the PS1 like damn the "graphics is terrible" statement is too harsh and pretty original man. Calling a 3D game a MISSTEP because it's 3D! How original...
I still to this day remember pre-ordering this from Gamestop, and to this day I still have this game, but no longer play MK after playing a lot of SNK fighters.
I think they were closer to MPEG1 files than anything MP4 would be used for. The PS1 would completely keel over and die if it even just attempted a modern video codec on its CPU.
This was still a good port ppl complain about the load times between matches but aye gives you a min extra second or 2 to scratch that insane itch your tryna get rid of before the game starts lmao
Jax is also one of only few characters I love so much, he is also my favorite character list, along with Johnny Cage, Liu Kang, Sub-Zero, Scorpion & Raiden.
@@donkeykongisytpooping3002 I can't remember my thinking at the time of the comment lol. I will give it a try! The time when it came out I wasn't impressed as I thought it was trying to get on the 3d fighting bandwagon and I thought the gameplay wasn't as good as the 2d. Lol saying that I do own this game so I do keep it :). I do own most of the fighting games on ps1 as I am fan of that genre.
It's not quite as good as the N64 version, but this version does have a lot of great cheesy FMV included!
wack as shit
The fact that the N64 used its own in-game engine, had cutting off dialogues and wonky animations is what made the cutscenes a treat.
It a good game
I grow up with this version and I like the intro cutscene compared to n64
What about Dreamcast?
I have fond memories of this port. Didn't knew Johnny Cage had a special weapon.
Keep it up.
Gonzalo Torres I'll do my best! :)

rotate 3 times and you can get special costume + weapon that no other have
I feel the nostalgia in my soul. I use to have nightmares playing this game
i loved this game back in the day, and i enjoy playing it on any console/port. i dont know why it has so much hate
Because it looks terrible, plays sluggishly, and was a MISSTEP in the franchise.

@@TheHistorianKing Does not defend that harsh and unfair "graphics is terrible" statement.
Maybe it's because of the Terrible Endings and weird voice acting.

Long live Lord Rayden.
Good thing it includes the startup
Maaaan, i loooooove mortal kombat 4, idk why, maybe nostalgia, i like characters desing and 90s games feeling, i like old games, even that im not old.
About blood this is the best MK ever!! The density, the quantity!!
i think this might be the only game I know to include its own trailer.
Liz Negamoon Haha! So true. And so tacky, dontcha think?
Indeed. This game did not transition well into the third dimension.
Mortal Kombat on the Sega CD had the original home release trailer on it as well.
The N64 version has medium quality sound and in-game cutscenes, while the PS1 version has high-ish quality sound and mp4 cutscenes.

Never liked MK4, even back in 97 went stale very quick. and doesn't have a lot to offer IMO

Umk3 and mk3 are tens of times better than mk4
How Nintendo if this is ps1?
