    So downtown wasn't shown neither was main Street or the other little streets on the other side of town. This just shows Woodstock Ave 3 times the upper end of town and the road that leads to west Rutland what about the rest of the town? Like the hospital or Lincolnave or Dorr drive

      I only showed where I had to go in my travels, if I went every where the video would be incredibly long

    Thinking of moving to Vermont. However I’d like to know a few things such as jobs ? Cost of living ? Any feedback would be great! I just wanna get out of this horrific state I live in

    • @AA1PR
      @AA1PR  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      unless you have a specialized degree its all minimum wage, even with a degree its not that great
      cost of living is just as high as other areas
      we pay some of the highest electric rates in the nation
      but if you love the outdoors, hiking, camping, skiing, etc its a great place
      the most popular area and growing area to move to over the last few decades is hanover NH

    • @justinb7835
      @justinb7835 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was thinking about New Hampshire as well

    • @AA1PR
      @AA1PR  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      as I said the west lebanon hanover area has been one of the most prosperous areas of the country growing economically for almost 3 decades

    Also thinking about moving to Vermont. Looking into Burlington, Brattleboro and Rutland. Any preference or pros/cons of them? Thanks.

    • @AA1PR
      @AA1PR  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Kara315 Burlington is the best, avoid rutland at all cost, taxes & petty crime are amazingly high for the area

      +Kara315 rutland isnt all bad. As long as you are east of Route 7, you are fine. rarley hear of any real crimes, maybe an occasional DUI or Walmart theft, but thats as bad as it gets. I personally have never encountered any heroine junkies. There are probably even more junkies in Burlington than in Rutland, but like in rutland, you never actually see them. I live in the nicer area by straton and have only caught people on our camera's once, and it was just some kids cutting through our yard in the middle of the day. Not an amazing city, at all. But no where near as bad as people make it out to be.

      Brattleboro is cool...lots of urban amenities for a town of its size...lots of cool downtown shops and restaurants, both local and intercity public transit, and quite a few chain hotels to sleep at if you're just visiting the area.

    I moved here to Rutland in 1977 it was still a small town you could walk 10 blocks from my apartment downtown go to dinner catch a movie and walk back at night and I felt completely safe. Can't do that anymore I don't even feel safe during the daytime hours. We have a massive opiate problem a large majority of school age children come from families living in poverty on welfare and who are and have experienced trauma before they even start school. Many children are extremely emotionally or mentally disturbed also. This video is a joke..

      i moved here in 1980, yes it was better years ago, But can you name me any city that is 100% safe. Not saying it's perfect but pretty safe compared to most cities. Rutland is kind of shitty But believe me Burlington is worse.

    I tried to get a feel for Rutland's economic vitality and character by trying to read the signs of the businesses, large and small, along the way.
    I quickly gave up.
    Any lettering smaller than 3 foot high in this video was illegible. About the only business I could make out was the sign of the golden arches. The rest of the signs, along with scenery, was a distorted, fuzzy mess.
    BTW, a little editing goes a long way. Two minutes at a traffic light is not compelling viewing.
    I won't be taking part two of this tour.

    WHY DIDN'T THEY CONTINUE THROUGH DOWNTOWN UNDER THE RAILROAD BRIDGE OFF PINE STREE TO THE GUT OR AS SOME LOCALS CALL IT HAPPY VALLEY KEEP DRIVING AND YOU CAN SEE A LOT OF POORER NEIGHBORHOODS THEN WHEN YOU GET TO RIVER STREET KEEP GOING OVER THE BRIDGE THEN MAKE A RIGHT ON STRONGS AVENUE MORE WONDRFUL PROSPEROUS FAMILIES LIVING THERE. MANY MORE TO ADD BUT I DON'T HAVE ALL DAY.
