Fun fact: SHINee were one of the very first guests on Weekly Idol when it first began in 2011. Doni and Coni (Rapper Defconn who is the one in the sunglasses, and comedian Jeong HyeongDon) are the original hosts that hosted the show until 2018, and they both have been hosts and guests on a lot of other variety shows, so they are really close with the SHINee members, that's why they feel so comfortable roasting each other.
The episode with the other hosts -- singer/songwriter TV personality Lee Sangmin (the one with the glasses) and comedian Kim ShinYoung -- was during SHINee's 1Oth anniversary promotions. So at that point they had been in the industry for more than 1O years and are old pros when it comes to variety programs, so they totally know how to read the room and rift with hosts. Plus, one of the reasons why Key was extra sassy on that episode was because he was sick that day and really didn't want to be there. So everything they wanted them to do was a little extra annoying and frustrating to him because he just wanted to go home. Which played well with Key's naturally sassy personality.
SHINee are known for being the group that is the first to appear on a lot of new variety shows or programs. They are the group that is most likely to be invited to be a part of the pilot episode or first episode of most TV programs. And it is said that it's good luck for a new show if they can get SHINee as a group, or any of the members, as their guest on the first episode or as a permanent member of the cast on the show. (Hence, why Weekly Idol is said to be one of the most popular programs for years and has been able to withstand the test of time. Which SHINee has been credited with being a key part of its popularity. Whether that's founded or just a coincidence, it says a lot about SHINee's influence.)
As SM's experimental boy group, SHINee are meant to be trendsetters in everything they do. They are touted with the success of several popular shows because they were the first guests on the show. Case in point, SHINee were guest on the first episode of a new Netflix Korea original show a few weeks ago and now the program has become a popular program for Idols and actors to appear on when they are promoting something. SHINee are sent to test a show out, and if they are able to make it popular than producers know they have something that is worth spending time on.
As you can see, SHINee are the first to do almost everything. That is one reason why they are legends. The music, entertainment and fashion industries, etc. are always looking for that SHINee magic and hoping for the members' stamp of approval, knowing that if SHINee is associated they will create a buzz and cause whatever it is to become the next big trend.
I love how weekly idol is usually the hosts (friendly) bullying the idols but for Shinee it's them bullying the hosts 😎

Shinee brightens my mood when I'm down. Just watch them on variety shows or fan made vids like this. They're so funny. Have you watched the compilation of key and Minho fighting like an old married couple? Hilarious!!!!

@@mjj1434 yes I did... 4 times I think! 😅 😅. I'm an oldwol. I probably have watched 90% of Shinee's content since debut. And watched them repeatedly. Recent contents though I struggle to find those with the Eng subs.

My favorite moment with shinee and weekly idol was in 1of1 era with trying to find out which member did it right with everybody. Then it's shows all of them it done It wrong except Minho and Jjong goes starts yelling he was in the right position for the first dance break!! Lol
