People in this comments section need to realize that fictional characters can be made to identify as literally anything while still representing harmful and bigoted stereotypes, just because the overly masculine crossdresser ingame identifies as such and is comfortable doesnt mean that the character isnt representing some really awful transmisogyny.
The character has no agency at all, its like making the sole black character literally apelike and then going "Oh thats just how he is what are you, some kinda racist for recognizing obvious signaling?".

If you strip all the context away from Queen Roger then his design can be transphobic. But it's not nearly as simple as that, you can't assume what the author's intentions were.
Every worker in the beehive (that area) is proud of their work, it's not just a joke. My boyfriend is trans and found it empowering to actual crossdressers. it's incredibly reductive to see their design and immediately call it transphobic.
@@ekyanso4253 even if not the creators exact intent, queen is still a caricature. plus the issue is specifically transmisogyny, aka transphobia that specifically harms trans women, which is something trans men dont have any say on (i say this as a trans man simply repeating what ive seen actual trans women say on the matter). theres context to the character, but the result is still a caricature regardless of if the creator meant something else

Transmisogynist jokes rarely actually identify as women, the “joke” of cross dressing characters is usually that they’re men in dresses because, and here’s the Part that should be obvious, the people making the joke rarely see trans women as anything other than men in dresses

Like, how come there can be jokes about fat people, loneliness and depression (Terry hints), the Nern stories, and burning kids alive, but jokes about CROSS dressing is too far? All of that is not taking in a count of stuff in the later parts of the game.
