  • Qualcomm, or “Quality Communications” - despite being one of the largest technology companies in the world, few people know the absolutely amazing technological and business history behind it. Seriously, this story is on par with Nvidia, TSMC and all the great semiconductor giants. Without this single fabless company based in San Diego, there’s almost no chance you’d be consuming this episode on whatever device you’re currently listening on - a fact that enables them to earn an incredible estimated $20 for every new phone sold in the world. We dive into this story live at the perfect venue: our first-ever European live show at Solana’s Breakpoint conference in beautiful Lisbon, Portugal!

Had to write a paper in College for a business class about how technolofy would change how business is down. This was in 2007, and i did it on how cell phone will allow eventually allow someone to conduct business from anywhere they were at. I was right, cause shortly after, the iphone was introduced and smartphones changed everything.

You both speak very well. Very coherent and easy to follow. Very few filler words. It makes for very enjoyable listening

Its amazing how cell phones have transformed the world. Has allowed many poorer countries to skip the step of laying phone lines to connect the population.

The irony is that despite the topic, the SNR in this episode is lower than it could be. All the metaconversation is not relevant to the audience.
