Hellos, how can I cut this for a longer skirt like 30 inches length using ankara fabric. Because if I'm cutting a circle, I need to cut 2 half circle to make a full circle skirt
Hello❤
For such length, you'll also need 2 pieces of 180 degrees each. To get your radius, first, divide your waist measurement into 2 and then divide the answer by 3.14. But instead of folding the fabric to form a triangle, just fold it into 2, mark your radius at one of the corners and cut out the half square. So this means that you'll cut out 2 half squares and join them together. Also fix your zipper.
This will require more fabric. You'll need about 4yards.
Please let me know if it's clear.
@@GraceyStitchesThanks so much. This makes perfect sense
@@HouseofTenTen thanks for the feedback❤. I'm glad it was helpful
Lovelyyyyy. Not just the skirt, you! Love the textbox you use to explain by the side.
You just gave me a smile.❤️
Thank you for watching and for the compliment.
I’m glad you found it useful.
Thank you! I have watched lots of videos on making this skirt and your video has inspired me to have a go, as your instruction are the easiest to follow x
You are so welcome!
Please let me know how it went.
Pls always show ur viewers how u fold the fabric.. Remember ,u mostly deal with beginners... Thank you.
Wow beautiful skirt. Thanks for the tutorial. God bless you
Thank you for the compliment and thank you for watching. It means a lot.
@@GraceyStitches you welcome
Please video on eight sided skirt ✌️🙏
Plain and simple
Thanks for sharing 👍
You’re welcome
Nice 👍. But you didn't add zipper allowance to the waist measurement before cutting the radius
Do you have a video explaining how to do this with an elastic band? I don't want to have to mess with a zipper if I don't have to. But I still like the addition of the band around it. Loved the skirt!
Hello
If you want to put an elastic band, the first thing is that you’d have to use your HIPS measurement to calculate the radius NOT YOUR WAIST measurement. That will be HIPS divided 6.28
..and then for the band, you do not need to open up one side of the skirt, just measure what you have on the waist of the skirt and use that measurement to cut out a band. Sew the band around the skirt but leave a space of about 3” through which you would insert the elastic.
Ensure that the elastic is about 4” lesser than your WAIST measurement.
Towards the very end of these videos 👇👇, I demonstrated how to insert an elastic on the waist.

Hello, good evening. Can you please tell me the brand of this your sewing machine?
Hi 👋
It’s a “Kingstar KS-9000A”
@@GraceyStitches Thank you ma’am. Do you highly recommend it?
@@akinjayejumoshope8385 well, yes, I’ll recommend it because it has never given me any issues. I’ve had it for about 6 years now😀
I also have a domestic machine- Empisal creations. No issues too.
Your explanation get me to subscribe
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks so much
The linely isn't compulsory abi
No, it isn’t
Lining is advised when the main fabric is see-through, light-weight or you want some extra volume or structure 👍
You give a good tutorial and the skirt is beautiful. The only issue I had with it is you talk too fast for someone trying to sew something new. Im not a youngster and I'm not an antique and I've only made a few things here and there but I was lost at the math. "My opinion is" you just spoke too fast for me to comprehend what you were talking about. Although I wont be making a square circle skirt I watched your whole video and enjoyed watching you make it. I will look you up in the future if I try to make anything else. PLEASE DONT BE OFFENDED and dont give up on doing more videos for people. You're VERY GOOD at what you do. Thank you
Really? I would never have thought that I speak fast. That is why feedbacks are important. Thank you for the feedback. I will put that into consideration in subsequent videos.( NB: my little translations could also be of help)
Thanks for subscribing and thanks for the compliment as well.
I was hoping to find printed instructions to go along with the video
The lining looks pretty. What type of fabric was it.
Hi. It’s called Indo lining here.
Good afternoon please the back is it short or longer
@@ChinenyeNjoku-pp6bu Hello. The skirt is exactly as shown in the first minute into the video. The front and the back have the same length and it is high and low. If you want a longer or shorter length, you will have to adjust the length of your fabric accordingly
I what to lene
Please watch the video and if you do not understand anything, I'll be here to answer your questions
great tutorial .....but fast in talking and your camera was too close couldn't get a thing....
Thanks for the compliment.
I had finished filming before I realized that the camera was close. I'm sorry about that.
My other videos have better coverage and I also tried to speak as slowly as I could. Please check them out❤
NB- Did you know that you could reduce the speed of a video manually (both the voice and the moving pictures)?
When you open a video, click on the hamburger icon at the top right corner. In the pop-up box that you'll see, click on playback speed and then you can reduce and increase the speed as you wish.
❤❤❤
Your teaching is nice but you are too fast .
Secondly the fabric is too colourful, for a beginner to see the markings.
Thirdly. the camera is too close.
Kudos
