Omegaverse is an AU in fiction, it started out as a a fanfic trope based on the concept of werewolves, but has expanded in recent years to become it's own genre (ex in manga, webnovels, etc.) The omegaverse is a fictional setting where aside from regular genders, people manifest one out of three sub-genders, alpha, beta and omega.
Alphas: usually written as the cream of the crop of society, they are often intelligent and powerful, many are influental people in society. They are also protective, jelous and sometimes downright obsessive over their mate. They also have ruts, which is their mating cycle.
Betas: Make up most of the human population, most of the time they are written as "normals" and generally go about their day normally.
Omegas: regardless if they are female or male, can become pregnant if mated to an alpha, regardless of the alphas gender as well. In certain adaptions omegas are heavily discriminated against for their natural dispoaition, as they go in to "heat" and attract alphas/potential mates.
Some of the sub-genders can also be dominant or recessive (submissive) this is another natural disposition of some special cases, I would presume that Babe is a dominant alpha in this case because his senses are hightened more than a normal alphas.
Scents/pheromones: all genders have disctinct "scents" each person has a distinct one, the reason why Babe is so annoyed by other alphas scents is because he's highly sensetive to them as a dominant alpha and they probably make him feel sick. The reason why he became so relaxed with Charlie is because he didnt smell or try and use his pheromones to overpower him. (I don't think we know the reason for Charlie's loss of scent yet, I just started watching the show lol)
Fated mates: I'm assuming that the these two are as well, it's basically an alphas/omegas fated pair, like a destined mate of sorts, the attraction between these pairs are usually much stronger than that of others.
