Hello. Love the program. Great to hear about other Taiwanese immigrant’s experience in the US. There is just one misinformation that needs to be pointed out. It is not illegal to ask for date of birth on any application. It’s part of the identification for the applicant. Date of birth is also on many legal identifications such as passport and driver’s license. It is only illegal if the date of birth is utilized for age discrimination which is protected by law.
It’s sad she felt so insecure or marriage, might be bcos of her background. When it comes to food. Westerners, not just Americans. They only order what they want to eat. They are not use to sharing food. Going Dutch on payment is also a norm. That’s their culture. Don’t read too much into it
