I agree with you 100% about not worrying if my creations will be kept. Not just the packaging but the actual gifts, as well. We don't all have the same taste and there will inevitably be misses. I'm lucky that there is a "free store" where I live. If people end up with something they don't want, they take it to the free store, where there's a good chance somebody will give it a home, at no cost. Over the years, I've seen a number of things I've gifted in the homes of people they weren't gifted to and I think it's great.
I couldn't agree more with your sentiments about things being thrown in the bin! As you say, we get the joy of making them. but we shouldn't attach any sentimentality to it, on behalf of the other person, otherwise we will always be disappointed or the other person will feel bad and may even ask you not to "take the trouble", then what...you'll probably start to feel even more offended lol!. Take pleasure from the making and giving, then let it go.
This is fab Sam, I don’t know how you come up with all these ideas. I agree with you re what we make. I make cards etc because I enjoy it. I don’t expect people to save it. My children talk about me selling on Etsy. I don’t need the pressure of that. I make things because I enjoy giving something different and it gives me something to do in my spare time. Great tutorial and thank you for all your inspiration xx
I made these last year for Valentine's Day. I gave them to a couple of teachers, to give to their students for the Valentine's card exchange. The kids loved them!!! I plan on making 100 of them this year. They think I'm the creative one, but I give all the credit to you Sam. You're the best and I can't wait to see what you'll create next.
Wonderful! Reminds me…we did a similar thing in oh, about 3rd or 4th grade (7 or 8 or 9 years old). It was a mail box, but for the base we used a Kleenex (facial tissue) box, using our little round-end scissors to open up and square off the top of the box - that was some tough cutting! Then construction paper for the big curved part over the top. I remember we had glued-on flags that stuck way up. We traced to get the end shapes, and the front had a crease at the bottom for a hinge. Ours were for Valentines! It was a small school in a tiny little town and art was once a week. The rule was that we each had to bring a Valentine for each person in our class-and everyone did. Some were made out of lined notebook paper and a thousand staples with markers that dried out in the middle of a letter. And then, some were the store-bought kind -2.5 inch x 3.5 inch cards in envelopes. So we gave the ugly ones to the kids we didn’t like! No glittered Disney characters for those stinky farm boys! (That would have been all of them, by the way.) Have to say, yours is much better! But I kept mine in my room until it fell apart. The glitter went first, and it went everywhere…of course…Thanks for the kick in the random access memory! You will be relieved to know that I will not be uploading any pictures to go along with the book! Thank you so very much for sharing your time, talent and expertise!
Absolutely Adorable. You could make a gypsy caravan, a horse box for a little girl, a glamping pod lol. The inspiration is never ending. Thanks so much for sharing this. Brilliant 👏 🤩💓
Brilliant. I really enjoy making stuff but I'm not too bothered what people do with them after they receive it. I just love the look on the faces when they receive it.
If you want to cover inside you can use the curved piece that was cut off as a template and just cut a a sliver more off to fit inside . Love this thankyou
I would love to make small ones for table settings for each person to put some lindor truffles or hershey nuggets in for Christmas. Not sure the measurements though. BTW your nails look great!
Absolutely fantastic as usual. My husband used to be a postman and is a keen stamp collector. My daughter and I have bought him a special stamp for Xmas and this will be absolutely great to put it in as a gift box . 👍👍👍👍
So cute! Thank you for the video--you are so creative! I have spent the last couple of days watching all of your videos. You amaze me with the way you do these cards and paper crafts without dies! Great work!!
Stop please! Every time I think of something to make you come up with another idea. This is so cute, I love it. I don’t know how I feel about people throwing out my creations. Part of me thinks they should save them & the other part says just throw it out. Thanks for sharing.
Love it, such an unusual gift box and so much fun. I agree with you because I do the same thing, I get so much pleasure in making your gorgeous cards and seeing the look on faces of sheer delight but I don't expect anyone to hoard them for ever. Some people don't appreciate handmade items, and are pleased with commercial product, and I am happy to oblige. but I am in my very happy place choosing card style, selecting the papers and putting colours to create something beautiful. Thank you Sam
I am so happy you have done this video, I have always wanted one of these but I'm not clever enough to work it out. However I will have to come back and watch this later as I have to go to my college course now. But thankyou again xx
Beautiful mail/gift-box, sure to please all lucky recipients. You are Inspiration & Imagination, rolled in one. Don’t know what we would do without you.Thank you Sam. As always, blessings ❤️xx
Gorgeous box! I wouldn’t expect the recipient to keep the box. I enjoy making cards and boxes and the recipients are always pleased to receive something special.
So beautiful Sam! How can I make all these favours for Christmas…. So many beautiful ones. I love them all. 🥴🥴. Well my table will be totally colourful this year. I am crafting quite a lot this weekend, can’t wait. Love your ideas Sam. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Sam this is so cute, every year l like to decorate my christmas table and l will be making 7 of these for my family and will put a small gift in each one and personalize each one with there names thank you so much and happy christmas to you and stay safe xx
Very cute idea! I know what you mean about not worrying about whether you card gets tossed eventually. Sometimes I feel like these projects are such a piece of me, that it's hard to let go. But, when you see surprise and delight on the recipient's face, that's the "reward". Crafting and being creative gives me so much pleasure, and if it makes someone else happy as well, that's a wonderful thing. Keep all the wonderful ideas coming. You are keeping me busy! 🙂
You have absolutly right Sam! All is for the joy of making it! If they throw it away you can make someting else the next year! Such a sweet mailbox this is!
I agree Sam. The pleasure is in the making and gifting. You can’t expect people to keep them forever. I think that with the cards too. I just keep a photo to remind myself. ❤️
This is just fantastic. I don't know how you come up with all of these ideas, but I'm so grateful that you share them with us. Thank you for all you do.
This is the most creative giftbag I ever seen. I totaly agree with you. Have fun making it and giving it away. Don't feel sad if they through it after unrapping.
I always enjoy our projects & this one is outstanding as well as perfect for my FIL. He spent his entire career in Canada Post, first as a postal clerk, then as a Post Master in a number of locations & finally as a project manager at head office. He loves my handcrafted cards & projects & a mail box will knock it out of the park. TFS!
Hi Sam, what a great idea ! I love it, I got inspired by your project and cased it. Instead of adding sand in the stem, I put bath salt and now it smells vanilla 😉
This is so amazing Sam. I love how you come up with so many ways to give a gift. This would also work for any occasion. You do inspire me to go & create where I think I can't. Gotta give this one a go. Be well & TYFS

So adorable. Yes I tell people, you could keep it or throw it away. I don’t care lol. I did it as fun
When i spend a lot of time on a card, I sign it on a post it note so the recipient can reuse the card and it doesn’t go directly into the garbage.
thats a great idea, to add a removable greeting/sign off ... I love that idea!
Thoroughly enjoyed watching this video and making it, enjoyed what you send about if person throws it away it is your enjoyment of making it thank you
