I have used Mixture of Glue + Cornflour + water as a final coat for smooth texture
For Small Tumba also the same glue flour mixture is applied, if uneven then you can use tissue paper also
String are just rope colored with Pearl Silver color

Yes I used Maida but later that gave some cracks
