    He laid his head on her shoulder and says he'd have been a vegetable. She fills his world with wonderful exposure. He writes so beautifully. Ohhh Tito. Strive on, into the joys of personal expression. What a lovely mum! And she expanded her reach to touch more...Sure of herself. She has a gift.

    Why is this not everywhere. What a wonderful mother and Tito. You are brilliant. Why are you not all over TH-cam. RPM is the only thing that is working for my grandson . Thank you for sharing and caring and moving away from government protocols that do not work for autistic children. Most end up depressed in the system

      I'm sorry, don't mean to be THAT guy, but RPM is psudoscience. There is little, if any, scientific backing to this method. It gives false hope to vulnerable families in need of therapeutic services. I am a bit appalled that these people can take money from the families with a straight face.
      (I say take money from the families because there is NO way insurance will cover this method....and they don't.)

      @Pardon My French My son's French mother did not use the RPM method for the simple reason that she did not know it when he started communicating, he started typing on a computer keyboard and later she used the communication board and got interested in Tito and the English speaking Typers Spellers.And then without an Anne Sullivan there wouldn't have been a Helen Keller either ! 2M6fPmyQqP4/view?fbclid=IwAR1TPRWhsDYJ0knaBsoPhBgpGiKn2EQzFv4oJ4kbSRBSMEI16toD1g4ot0U

    We too have a wonderful tutor trained in RPM. She resigned from the school system so that she could pursue the training of children without the ability to speak. We learn from her and try to do as well during the rest of the day. Like Tito we are able to get amazing thoughts from Jake that we would never know he had. He is a smart, spiritual young man whom I greatly respect and am glad to get the opportunity to work with as we establish communication as a family.

    This is so informative. This is the system of learning that our school district took away from our kids, and we now homeschool with it so Jake and his classmates won't lose everything they had gained and we can teach so much more on an individual basis. It's wonderful!

      hi Cindy ,
      you mean that you used to use RPM but the school district hadn't accept the method ? it seems that,as no researchs had been made (exept the one you can see in HALO site) on RPM, many schools don't want to work with it .So bad because i'm sure all these kids have got so much to learn and to teach us .

      We took the ipad to the special school and showed what 13 yr old could do ... they were amazed - videoed it... next Monday when we showed up with it , they then said - "no we are not going to allow that -we don't have time" ...??? Yeah well take away all the wheelchairs and white canes while you are at it!!
      We now home school.... Folks have a hard time realizing there is a thinking / feeling soul SHUT IN behind all the autism...

    Ya'll should read the book Tito Mukhopadhyay wrote its basically an Autobiography its called "How Can I Talk If My Lips Don't Move" I'm reading it at the moment for my Psychology class it really interesting to see things from his point of view.

      Taylor Senne, have you read :Ido In Autismland? It is an incredible description of non-speaking autism. Ido learned to type using the same method as tito
      My own son learned to type independently also, through Soma's method.
      Glad you are reading Tito's work.

    The only thing that I didn't like about Dobe is when he wanted to touch the flowers, they moved his hands away. You know what, some people with autism learn by touching.

    Thankyou for sharing this. I would like to know does the child also build speech with this technique? or only communication? what other techniques are more suitable to help with child's communication and speech? Should the child also do speech therapy along with this?

      An autistic child can use both letters, the alphabet, and see a speech therapist in parallel, I speak for my son but his mother brought him to computer communication without the RPM method we are French, he also uses the communication board drive.google.com/file/d/1cQPQr-lLs1hu4U4t7CTYL2M6fPmyQqP4/view

    Would that work for a moderate autistic deaf 12 year old? He can read on TV screen and tries to spell his movies on Netflix. He makes eye contact and smile, laugh... loves Google Earth and his visual special IQ is high. But lost hearing around 4 or 5 years old... would this method work?? I want him to meet Soma.

    • @luciross3427
      @luciross3427 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      PS. He doesnt communicate in sentences, only said one word (baby) when his brother was born. He rarely signs a few things. He needs to open himself to the world because it frustrates him so much.

    I wish I knew a way to get in to the school systems, however with the implementation of Common Core we will have even less resources for our special needs children.

    • @otistile99
      @otistile99  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm sure all these kids can do great in mainstream school like Ido Kedar does for exemple : they're smart and just need us to believe them . As they type more and more indepedently they can show their great competences . Do you know the blog of Christine Stephan "Day sixty seven " , so inspiring !

    Hi, I found this method to be very interesting. Can I get some information before implementing this procedure? I was wondering how many studies have been done, and how empirically-backed this is. Do the families have to buy the stencils directly from the same company? When I have watched many of the videos on RPM, I noticed the students would scroll responses for every question until the implementer praised the student for touching the right paper (50% chance of getting the right answer as well). Would this be considered correct? Thank you for your time.
