I agree. Perhaps it was the graphics style and above average music that set it apart: not 3-d models, anime style, but not super cutesy, and a clean interface system. I hardly did any quests in Ragnarok, I think most of them fell under the radar of the economy. The classes being clearly distinct and there being different builds even within classes was another strength. I wonder, a "reset stats" option negates any value in committing yourself to a build, but not having one often ='s grind more.

? RO2 isn't meant to replace RO1, RO1 will always be there and it is always being updated and worked on. We not only got 3rd classes but new maps, monsters, mounts, etc. Too just recently. But I agree, RO2 still needs work, Gravity just failed hard when creating it. No excitement or challenge, just boring quests and grinding, no hunting MVPs, headgears, and such...

I like how someone said RO II had no excitement or challenge: boring quests and grinding.... um and how is that any different from RO I? Don't get me wrong... I enjoyed RO I for a bit when I played beta and later on. But now after playing so many MMOs I have come to realize how horrible of a game it truly is. Unreliable servers along with the fact that all it is- is a grind fest in itself. If RO wants to up its game it has to change, which is where RO II will have a chance to do so.
i had a lot of fun playing the closed beta for this game. it was too much of a huge departure from ragnarok online and i think the ro purists killed the game. perhaps too much backlash for the terrible servers? ro has gone downhill for so long and they keep pushing out ro clone games!!
