Bronya sounds weird to me, but again the English VAs are really newbies in that department
VS the seasoned Chinese and Jpn VAs that had plenty of field work with voicing Bronya and Seele (also Raven sounds so strange too, but I assume it’s a version where she didn’t have to become a mercenary)
For some reason I kind of wanted Bronya to have a little bit of a Russian accent (but that's just me talking), maybe they'll fix up the voice acting as we get closer to its official release (I hope)
Tbh, in all languages bronya is bound to sound weird since she no longer has the monotone voice she had in hi3 because she never experienced anything that happened in azure waters
The game’s in beta, so don’t expect all the VAs to be the same come the release date

GGZ is another Honkai universe that was deleted. HI3 we're playing is also another Honkai universe. Those universes we're speaking of are leaves in one tree.

I'm honestly not a fan of how similar some of the elements are compared to Genshin, the overall UI of the VN and the useless speech bubbles that could just be replaced by voiced dialogue that the player doesn't choose - one of the big reasons I've gotten a lot less excited for Star Rail. My brain thinks of it more of another Genshin rather than another Honkai, at least this is basically a spinoff and Honkai 4th is probably still in the works.

And then there are some of the people in the comments. Not you. Other people, that will always without a doubt compare star rail with genshin or mention a similarity. Even to the smallest one. Dialogue option? JuSt LiKe In GeNsHiN. A hud and UI system that has previously worked and could be a good temporary tool for the beta. SOUND'S LIKE GENSHIN. A badass red haired girl whom everyone loves? IT'S FEMALE DILU- NO IT'S HIMEKO AND DON'T EVER GET IT WRONG.
@@Nekomon. First of all, Himeko has NOTHING to do with it.
For me it's just an automatic thing, it's inevitable that you're going to compare the two because of very similar UI elements, animations etc. You can't just ignore it, it paints this idea in your head that the game is directly based off of Genshin, and with Genshin's current state and the reputation between Honkai players and Genshin players, it's causes a negative effect, like a "ew it looks like genshin", of course I don't actually hate Genshin or hate Star Rail because of this, but it can't be helped.
It can also make you worry that maybe things like story, character relevance and development, gameplay loops and game management etc. will be like Genshin, it's a bit of a stretch but the concern is there.
And yes, I know this is a beta, the game will come out in most likely over a year so this doesn't represent the final product at all, so there's a chance.
I never said that Star Rail is bad or will be bad because of this, there's just a few flags that make me think "Genshin" and get me worried for the game.
With so many similarities, it won't stand out, it wont have as unique as an identity, people will call it "Genshin in Space". That's why I'm worried.
@@griffin4556 The himeko part was a joke cause I've seen so many people who've never played honkai immediately say that. I understand some of your concerns and what you say does have merit. They're valid, although it would be best to come into this with an open mind as it's own thing rather than a genshin or honkai byproduct. So far at least for most of the character's, they seem to have potential to be really well developed although I do hope it is more than how character's are treated in genshin where a lot of the character's seem like one night stands rather than actually having meaningful relationships with the character's and being character's that grow with time. I remember it took almost an entire year for xianyan to even have an appearance until recently. Then there are some character's like eula or rosaria that have fascinating stories that are just waiting to grow and develop but haven't cause they are more concerned with introducing new character's.
