    Another review video for the Flex PXE 80 states the overall weight of the polisher with battery and backing plate is right around 2.2 lbs. Light weight, well balanced, and low vibration exponentially reduces shoulder, arm, and hand fatigue over the course of a day. Not having to drape a fifty foot, 10 gauge extension cord over the shoulder and constantly whip it free of ground obstructions makes a world of difference when polishing. I bought the Flex XFE 150 cordless DA last year (6" backing plate) along with an Adams Mini-Swirl Killer DA for the tight areas highlighted in this video, and it looks like I will be swapping out the Adams polisher for the Flex PXE 80. The price is high, but over the course of a polishing day it won't take Flex PXE 80 more than a few jobs to recoup the difference.

      Lake Country makes some great pads for these. Thanks for watching.

    I like the tool a lot, but am disappointed the rotary adapter doesn’t work with the 3” backing plate. Otherwise I love this tool for one inch rotary use.

      Old comment but looks like you can grind down the pin on the rotary attachment for the plate to screw in

    They should make charger that can charge 2 batteries at the same time, especially with a polisher. Since the battery run out quick, 20 mins per battery is not enough time

    • @Shoptoolreviews
      @Shoptoolreviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Are you using more than 2 batteries on a single car? Thanks for watching and commenting.

      Shop Tool Reviews if you do paint correcting, you need more than 2 batteries

    • @Shoptoolreviews
      @Shoptoolreviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is not meant for the whole car, but depending on the car, we see that you may use more than 2 batteries for correction. Their chargers are pretty legit and they tell you how long is left on the charge. They also sell a 6.0 Ah battery. That's what we would recommend, just buy two 6.0Ah batteries.

    When would you want to use the Griot's G8 instead of the Flex PXE 80?

    Are you pretty much running Lake Country pads with this? Which pad type would be good for correction, along with what compound? Thx

    Can you run extensions on this machine?

    • @Shoptoolreviews
      @Shoptoolreviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      FLEX doesn't offer an extension for the PXE 80 yet, but I have seen others using extensions. I've also seen extensions being sold online as well.

      Yes you can. I ordered mines from overseas and can make a video when they arrive. Basically makes the autotriz pointless!

      @@jonnathanmarcellus4456 Nice!! Did you get the 2" backing plate as well?
      I think Flex should have had them come with the kit... nonetheless...I cant wait to get mine😎🤘🏻👍🏻

    can you tell me good reasons to be using the 3mm orbital vs. the 12mm orbital tool? Is the 12mm longer throw better for correction and the 3mm better for application and light polish in tighter areas? Thanks for the help!

    • @2jj-k3x
      @2jj-k3x 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      3mm will be more aggressive in the cutting stage so movement will need to be quicker

    I was surprised at the focus issues in this video - the main host was NEVER in focus. In the first section the focus was on the back tool board - on the later section it was focused well in front of the guy doing the talk. Use manual AF and set it on the logo on his shirt and you will be good to go. Lame for a video coming from an established business. I did appreciate the info on this new polisher - got one ordered.

    • @Shoptoolreviews
      @Shoptoolreviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the heads-up. We typically use MF, but I have to admit that sometimes we make a mistake and leave it in AF. We love our Lumix cameras, but they are terrible at keeping focus (in AF). Thanks for watching, and you will love that PXE80.

    can i polish the whole car? will it not burn?

    • @Shoptoolreviews
      @Shoptoolreviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is definitely not a polisher that you would use to polish your whole car. This is only a 3-inch polisher. We would recommend a Flex 5 or 6-inch polisher for that.

      @@Shoptoolreviews thanks, I understand. I have a rotary car in the body shop where I work. there is still a 21mm eccentric and a rupees 75, for the sake of interest I tried to work with one machine inside and out. there was a time difference, but polishing small was more convenient than combining them. as they say slowly but surely, even if this is not a typical scheme
