    Fascinating content, loved the video. According to this I'm now a tailor, as I've got everything on the list. Most definitely just a keen dodgy home sewer who is learning tons from this channel. Thank you.

      Everyone has to start somewhere. ;) If suits your needs, why does it matter how it looks? Perfection is doing the best we can at that point in time.
      Further, we are our worse critics and those who sew will never notice the mistakes.

    Thank you so much for your wonderful videos! Years ago, I worked at a dry cleaners as both a presser and some mending. I always wanted to up my skills in the altering and mending. These videos have been most helpful. Thank you also for the link to the iron!

    Hi Louis, thanks so much as I'm picking up the trade. Wonder a serger sewing machine is handy to own? Looking for a used model also a serger comes with single and double thread needles. More complex model starts from 2 spools to 4 spools or even more...hope you would make a video to explain basic use of the serger, ways to thread and is it useful to own one. Thanks ;)

    Love your videos! I've learned a great deal from them. Thank you for making and sharing them.
    But you might note, that in the section about irons, you've written that "Steem" is an important feature. Uh, it's "STEAM". :)

    The most essential tools for the trade are the dagger and the yo-yo. If you don't have them, get them.

    You mentioned a ham for press, then you mentioned another tool starting with a 'b' I believe, could you give the name and description of this pressing tool. Thanks

    I bought the superglide chalk you use. It works absolutely perfectly, especially compared to my cheapo clay chalk.
    I have one issue though, I noticed it dissappears when ironed but it leaves a dark waxy mark. How do I go about removing this or is it just the nature of the beast?

    • @AspiringGent
      @AspiringGent  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I started noticing that as well. I made a switch to the Wawak brand and really like it. Alternatively tide pens work well!

    • @thatxonexguy5438
      @thatxonexguy5438 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AspiringGent does it dissappear completely? I noticed on the description it says it CAN be removed instead of "may" be removed like all the other chalks they list

      @@thatxonexguy5438 @aspiringgent This is going to sound odd, but I use soap (the soaps that end up it in the shower until someone throws the slivers out). This is an old trick from my grandma and it is wonderful and disappears with ironing. The best ones are the super skinny ones as they mark closer to the ruler. I have a jar of skinny soaps 😄

      @@claudiaenglish8742 i had heard of people using that. Is it just regular dove bar soap? I might just pick up a bar and try it out. I have some garments with very nice fabrics, but they leave a pretty good oily mark on lighter colors.
