Los Angeles, often referred to by its initials L.A., is the largest city in the state of California and the second most populous city in the United States after New York City, as well as one of the world's most populous megacities. Los Angeles is the commercial, financial, and cultural center of Southern California. With a population of roughly 3.9 million as of 2020, Los Angeles is known for its Mediterranean climate, ethnic and cultural diversity, Hollywood film industry, and sprawling metropolitan area. The city of Los Angeles lies in a basin in Southern California adjacent to the Pacific Ocean extending through the Santa Monica Mountains and into the San Fernando Valley. It covers about 469 square miles (1,210 km2), and is the seat of Los Angeles County, which is the most populous county in the United States with an estimated 9.86 million as of 2022.
Home to the Chumash and Tongva indigenous peoples, the area that became Los Angeles was claimed by Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo for Spain in 1542. The city was founded on September 4, 1781, under Spanish governor Felipe de Neve, on the village of Yaanga. It became a part of Mexico in 1821 following the Mexican War of Independence. In 1848, at the end of the Mexican-American War, Los Angeles and the rest of California were purchased as part of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, and thus became part of the United States. Los Angeles was incorporated as a municipality on April 4, 1850, five months before California achieved statehood. The discovery of oil in the 1890s brought rapid growth to the city. The city was further expanded with the completion of the Los Angeles Aqueduct in 1913, which delivers water from Eastern California.
Los Angeles has a diverse economy, and hosts businesses in a broad range of professional and cultural fields. It also has the busiest container port in the Americas. In 2018, the Los Angeles metropolitan area had a gross metropolitan product of over $1.0 trillion, making it the city with the third-largest GDP in the world, after New York City and Tokyo. Los Angeles hosted the 1932 and 1984 Summer Olympics and will host the 2028 Summer Olympics. More recently, statewide droughts in California have strained both the city’s and Los Angeles County’s water security

Last time I was in L.A. was 1981. I stayed in the valley but in 1978 I went to L.A. and also visited disneyland, hollywood at nite(not good!)long beach was great and also went to seaworld in san diego and other places there too🏖🌴🌈
I can relate to that. Ive been to L.A. twice now. first time was many years ago, late 90s and the second time was just as rememberable as the first time. I have been many places in my life L.A. just has this magical feel when you leave there. I cant wait for the day I visit San Francisco. i have a feeling it has all the beauty that L.A. does with a little extra. One day soon i will find out.
@@TheTravelerRV I think san francisco and los angeles have somewhat different origins and how they came to be and san diego has it`s own origins as well and those are the roots of the differences. anyway, see ya in "frisco"🌉
@@marios.sanchez i can agree they definitely have different vibes. ive never been to San Francisco but from what i have seen of it, i do feel it will leave a lasting me impression on me. Also think its cool how Metallica is from L.A. but it was San Francisco that gave them the audience to get their start.
Amazing
Thank you so much

@@hoodiepyxledits sounds like LA, always a great time but the traffic kills...
I'll always love Cali but Im ready to leave honestly! My heart is in Atlanta and im just waiting to catch up with it!
i can relate as a southern boi myself i would miss my Boudain balls. Atlanta definitely has its own big city vibe going. i liked it last time i was out there.
what time was this
most of my night time videos are filmed sometime between 8-10pm. i also think this was on a Friday night as well.
Thanks For Watching
It is sad for me, that the nightlights has been changed. The different atmosphere. I wanted to visit L.A. because of these unique night lights, I am a big movie fan and wanted to expierience the atmosphere of „Heat“, „Collateral“, ….similiar of this genere. I decided in 2005 to visit L.A. at night and make copter flight, After I have seen „Heat“.
Seems, that it is to late now.
I got a strong urge to watch Collateral now😎
@@TheTravelerRV AND „Heat“ please, too.😄
@@TheMaikjon def need to rewatch Heat as well
This GTA mod would melt my PC
Its a sneak peak at GTA10, coming in 2035
Get out of the left lane
Hahaha... I love it... thanks for the vibes
Some streets have no left lane...
do I see correct that most of the street lights are not yellow nor white but with green tone? 👀
you are right. when filmed i just went with the camera night setting for the white balance. i always knew it was l a little heavy on the blues and greens. i notice the green tint the most in concrete on the building. it happens after i color boost in davinci. which used to be last. now im going to spend one more round color grading
so underwhelming and so overwhelming at the same time
I hope that is a good thing 😁
i like america

Is it hard to get a job in California? And what do they pay
im not sure, since im not from Cali. i do know the gig economy like uber, doordash, ect. is saturated and hard to make good money in this area. if you really want to work im sure you can find jobs in Cali, with minimum wage starting at $16 an hour. im sure their is work for people who have an education and looking for work in their field. i would think many of them find jobs before moving their.
the one thing life has thought me. is to live where you are most happy. as it is in our nature to make it work out no matter where we live. so i try living where ever makes me happiest. Austin is my favorite city to live in, becuase its more affordable than Cali and just as fun.
